Anand vs Sachin - a comparison
by attacker on Feb 05, 2014 11:09 AM

if Anand has not played chess.. then india never had a world champion in chess in any category... we never had won asian games gold medal and other international medals in chess.. we never got a chance to organise world championship.. chess won't become part of curriculum... we wont have highest no. of rated chess player in the world.. we wont have dozens of gms in india.... but, if sachin had not played cricket.. still we have won as many world cup as we have today.. still corporates would be looting public money in the name of IPL.. we might have won few lesser matches...

Taking credit
by sachin thyagathur on Feb 05, 2014 11:06 AM

Rajeev Shukla's statement shows that he is responsible for BR award to Sachin and taking the credit. If so Sachin should immediately return to UPA. However we believe the awards are not based on decisions of any political party or politicians.

by Manabendra Pathak on Feb 05, 2014 11:02 AM

As nobody thanks you people so thanks each other. Somebody play & Rajeev Shukla is building his career. Even Tendulkar took retirement but this Shukla will not from sports. Good business.

Good Player but Why Bharat Ratna?
by on Feb 05, 2014 10:49 AM

Sachin is a good player - no doubt about it; but he played for BCCI/ County/ IPL Team to make money and his records. He never got a medal for India, never made any significant contribution to society?

A Toad Just Thanked his own Corrupt Govt
by sudhir sharma on Feb 05, 2014 09:46 AM

He has croaked some crony like words to make space for himself. Sachin was a good cricketer but now keeps company of wily politicians looking to manipulate him. I don't think he is anything greater than what a cricket career has bestowed upon him. He plays a game which is played by about 6 or 7 decent sides in the world whereas Wrestling twice Olympic medallist in winner of many a world championships is nowhere near this Bharat Ratna in wealth or politics

strange

Yes he made our name in cricket and is a good batsman.
Being a sportsman, he promoted pepsi or coke which are proven very harmful for bones of children and adults all alike.

He was gifted Ferari but despite being a multi millionaire, he did not pay the duty and government waived it off (we dont know why).
He joined politics and played a mute spectatator for all the ill that plague the country.
Now he plans to campaign for the most corrupt party of this nation (may be these are just rumours).
We made a hero out of him and our love made him a multimillionaire and in return what we get (apart from good cricket) is a lame duck who has no gutts to raise a voice against corruption, does not mind earning money even if it brings ill health to people and miserly enough not to pay his import duty for a car gifted to him...........do we need to idolize such people????? Is good cricket worth so much of a nation's compromise???
