Undoubtedly R Ashwin is very talented off-spinner but still a long way to go.The future depends on not just his talent but also his maturity, attitude ,growing up on and so on.Yes, he has variations and it is strength but he has to be very discreet in its use. He is primarily an off-spinner and should have confidence in himself not to unnecessarily try out too many things where the pitch is helpful. So his approach, maturity logical thinking and above all patience depending upon the surface..... all those are going to matter a lot as was seen when he failed miserably during the English series.Ashwin should emulate Anil Kumble's never say die spirit when it comes to patience.

Ashwin does not has the caliber to last till 300 wickets. Wait till we go overseas and then be a judge of his abilities. We have seen him struggle against England last year at home.

For that he should know to chuck. Ashwin will be a loser in overseas conditions
Ashwin has played just 3 tests outside India and his record is: Melbourne: 4/141; Sydney: 0/157 (Sydney is considered to be spinner's track); Adelaide: 5/267. The rest of the 72 of his 81 wickets have been taken in India on dusty spinning tracks specially prepared for him on Dhoni's command! When there was no dust on the tracks (against England in the recent series), he failed miserably. Just like most of the Indian batsmen are Lions on Indian wickets where the ball comes below knee level, Ashwin, at least till now, has proved to be a Indian dusty tracks bully. Let us wait and see how he performs in South Africa when he goes there at the end of this year!

Hi RAPCHIK, Why are you criticising his looks. If you don't like him keep your mouth shut. With his nipples he is able to get the Australian batsmen out. Could you do it coward.

Name an "current" Indian Fast bowler who performed exceedingly well or have an outstanding record on overseas tour. When an Indian fast bowler could not take wickets on fast or bouncy tracks, why blame a spinner? Even harbhajan didnt do much against Australia in Australia! Agreed Ashwin did not perform well during the English Tour at Home, apart from that his performance has been good at home matches. To consistently perform on overseas tour you need good experience. Can't you see how Nathan Lyon is struggling in the same dusty tailored pitches? To Rakchik, may be u are nipp less that's why U r worrried abt others nipp-les. It is easy to talk but it takes something when u actually play/perform in the field

logic is simple.. IF Ashwin gets wickets INDIA wins.. if he doesn't, India hopelessly thrashed (save his batting).. I think you see only one player in the Indian team.. do you get blind on seeing the non performance of others.. if you want to watch only one player in a match, then go and watch Tennis or Chess... why watch cricket..
if you have GUTS, please tell me the statistics of other players who played in Australia and had a huge impact..
as simple as that, your stomach burn when you see south indian performing..
Why we fight amongst ourselves for petty things & bcoz of this our enemies across the border will take advantage..harbhajan,Ojha,Ashwin etc all are indians..live & let live cheers

Ajeet - stop being a hypocrite..you say Ashwin is pure lucky and he is not a lambi race ka goda and here you are speaking like the true Indian..wow..

Dear Narayan, Ashwin is not a lambi race ka ghoda is a fact. He is also an Indian is a fact as well. So where is the hypocrisy? I fail to understand. Don't they all combine together and are called an Indian team? I did the same and if by doing so you feel Iam a hypocrite, then I am sorry to say buddy I do not agree with you. May be you are a fan of Ashwin but let me tell you something, I am the fan of sport called CRICKET.

only the ignorant and illeterates fight..the others does not care, we are all happy to see when Sachin displays his batting form, sehwag shines, Kohli shows his agression, Pujara shows his class, Harbhajjan regain his condidence and shows his skills, ashwin shows his form with both bat & ball, ojha, yadav, kumar all displaying class..
