KAPIL??
by sanjay oswal on Feb 22, 2012 11:58 AM  | Hide replies

Also I am intrigued by Kapil's comment that Sachin should have retired after worldcup. Did he retire after 1983 world cup win? He also was forced by the selectors to retire whereas Sachin is slowly moving out by not opting to play 20-20 and against minnows like WI & bangladesh in one days.

Kapil was 24 years in 1983. Sachin was 38 years in 2011. Who should retire 24y one or 38y one?

Kapil should not talk about Sachin and records. I still remember the match in which he broke Headley's record. We were playing against minnows and the last pair was batting. To help Kapil to get the record Kumble was bowling all his delivers almost wide out side stump so that the batsman will not attemp to play. Even after that Kapil a lot of overs to get that one wicket.
People use to say that time, if Kapil will keep on running after he delivers the ball, he may reach before his delivery reaches the batsman. In his last days Kapil also played only for records. In fact I remember one match in one day series where India lost the match only because of pathetic balling of Kapil

Do u have any sense of history or are u just commenting ? Kapil was a youngster when India won the cup. He later led us in one more World cup, and had it not been for our bad batting in the semis, he would have even taken us to another final in 87. He also played in 92 mind u. Of course, the last two years he was not exactly his old self and he retired in 94. In contrast Sachin's retirement has been on agenda from past 3 - 4 yrs. In fact, in 2007 many thought it was his last world cup. And he was not forced into retirment, but he retired on his own after a one day series.

Kapil could see himself being substandard for 2 years, but cant bear to see Sachin fail for 1 ODI series :)
He definitely should be Sachin's greatest fan or greatest critic :)

Dhoni will make Indian cricket filthy
by sanjay oswal on Feb 22, 2012 11:54 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is a good batsman, an average wicketkeeper, a poor captain and worst politician which is doing more harm than good. He and shrikant are slowly turning Team India into team chennai

comparing to sehwag, sachin, dravid, DHONI is THE best captain we ever had, as for his w/k he is better than parthiv but not good as dinesh karthik, his batting in the current series needs no explanation...and by the way do not envy chennai superstars..they take the best in indian cricket..not their fault..

Dhoni has done good for Indian Cricket but that does not mean we should allow him to ruin the Indian Cricket and do as per his wish. This is Team India not his personal Team to do whatever he wants. If he is not able to lead the Team better to step down, surely we can find another good Leader. His way of playing, captaincy and Interviews only increasing rifts within the Team.

Do not be biased and talk of Team India becoming Team Chennai. How many players in the Indian Team are from Chennai. Think before you talk and do not blame Dhoni and Srikanth. If Srikanth wanted, he could have brought Vijay and other players from Chennai. So do not talk rot.

Well they did their best to include him in the Team, however, he did not cash any of those chances. The long stint he got despite of his poor performances hard to digest. Similar case of Parthiv Patel as well. He failed miserably against WI and still selected for Australian Tour. Vinay is not doing any good by his bowling but still he is playing and at the expense of Praveen Kumar who is far better bowler than him. Suresh Raina even after failing consistently is playing all the ODIs and players like Tiwari waiting in the wings despite of good Form. Ravindra Jadeja failed to take a single wicket and score runs and still he is playing all the ODIs for his fielding (Though Tiwari is much better fielder than Jadeja). What all other proofs you want that this is Team Chennai and not Team India.

Drop this guy. Saha is a good replacement. He is going through a dream form. 3 centuries in a row in Duleep. Now 85* in domestic ODI and good WK. He is not a politician too. What else wrong in him to select Parthiv over him in ODI?

Coz Parthiv was a part of Chennai Super Kings. This is only reason.

Sehwag is certainly not slow
by buzzer on Feb 22, 2012 11:53 AM  | Hide replies

Who says he is slow......

Just look at him.....

He does not take more than two or three deliveries for getting out.

He is at the crease for maximum five minutes and after that he is back in the pavilion.

U cant depend on the youngsters like, Jadeja,Tiwary, Kohli, Raina, removing the trio, sehwag, sachin nd Gambhir. Keeping ths three senior in the team, selectors can give the chances to youngsters. If u drop ths three senior players, than, IND team will not be having any backbone!!Rohit & Jadeja is not fit for oneday!they can play IPL and in home ground with team like zimba, bangla, kenya, west indies..but not against AUS,South Afr, Pak,..Who is Dhoni..he is jst a captain of the team..that is not his team..that is India's team..so he cant do anything,as his wish..Why he didn't drop Rohit, Raina, Jadeja ONE BY ONE to give a chance to the bench players..Raina and kohli can play well..they have done a good job for indian team..but, Jadeja cant hit boundaries in that horrible big ground of Australia..He can play in only IPL..ask him to show his talent only in IPL cricket!!Irfan Pathan is a asset for team India..team can utilize him.. He can bowl as well as bat also..In youngsters, there is nobody like, Sehwag, Sachin, Dravid, Laxman..nobody can replace them for sure..kohli has a talent, but he needs to improve his shots..getting runs doesnt mean that, he is a good player..consistency is main thing..Everybody is wating for Sachin 100th ton..once he reach that, he can hit more centuries with quick succession..He is in tremondous pressure now..It happens to evrybody..Nobody cant drop player like Sachin, till he is physically fit..Dropping the Trio is a risk..dont depend on youngste
