God

The "God" has proved once again, that he is worst captain to have walked the face of the cricket playing world..
1) Some unknown guy opening bowling against Gayle, when you have Malinga, Bhajji, Munaf!!
2) Not taking Symonds in the team and persisting with out of form pollard
3) Opting to bowl first on a crumbling wicket
4) Plus for bringing the whole team down with his excessively negative body language when ever the team gets hits for a boundary..
Thank god (the real one, not the pretender), that India got Dhoni as captain...

it is only the we indians who think a popular sportsperson as God. no sportsperson will last a long time, a retirement time has to come just as yamraj comes.

i still dont understand, why harbajan is set ahead of pollard and symonds. this is not the first time. guess harbaja is a fundoo and terrific batsmen who can give nightmares to all the bowlers in the world ;-)

Any team that includes majority non-marathis .....

..... is not a Mumbai team.

The Mumbai teams have won 50% of Ranji trophy's using mostly Marathi players. These days it is all Sharma's and what not and the results are there to see.

Yes I am regionalistic, parochial and narrowminded and proud of it. So are most other communities in India, they just pretend otherwise.

Hi Marathi!! Its a pity that Mumbai has no Marathas left. And to make it worse, its owned by a Gujarati bhai.
And the Pune team is owned by a non Maratha too.
Now NasikMarathi, what you gonna do? Crib on the forum or become a Indian?
As for me, I as a Indian would lay down my life to save Mumbai, Marathi or not. I love Mumbai, and I love India. And if NasikMarathi were to cut me to pices, each piece of my body would say,Jai Maharastra and Jai Bharat !!

Too bad your Bengal is almost as bad a hellhole as that UP/Bihar.

I wouldn't want to even visit Bengal and Kolkata never mind live there.

No wonder you are in Maharashtra....

u have reasons to be proud; u ve Shastri making clinical under curtain politics to down non-marathis, u have sharad power to asist u, u have people to save the dixit's; u forced sourav to retire on grounds of age when he was 36 while ur god is playing at 38 and now the questionof age has vanished. the marathians are great because the fielded themselves on the ground so far, others are not great because they are kept outside.

How many Ranjis has your Bengal team won? Mumbai has won 39 out of 74 with mostly Marathi players in history.

Now run along....

What Nashik says is correct. What is wrong in being fond of mother land and language? I love Karnataka and Kannada. I am fanatic. But, thats how India is made. India is a group of many countries.

Dude, when is IPL ever about regional pride. Gayle, Malinga, Brett Lee are not Indians but you don't mind Malinga bowling for Mumbai team but have issues with "Sharmas"? Marathi team has comprehensively been beaten by Karnataka in the past. Its cyclical, sometimes ex-test players/players coming back from injuries in the National team get to play Ranji and elevate their respective teams.. Teams like Assam or Railways that has no star presence never make it anywhere, why is that? Cut the Marathi /Tamil/Kannadiga pride, good cricket from all around is enjoyable.

How many Ranji trophys has Mumbai won? Half of them to date like almost 40? Winning half the Ranjis is domination, not cyclical. Just check how many Ranjis. Karnataka has won, it is 6 or 7 Ranjis. No comparison.

Mumbai in Ranjis is the winningest team in all of club sports with over 50 years history.

But never mind you won't understand..... and BTW you can have all the Sharmas you want.

I am a big of Sachin. But could not understand that why he did the stupid thing by bowling first and then second stupid thing by not giving first over to Malinga and Patel and third stupid thing by not sending Pollard at top. He should resign from MI captainship. Any poor captain with such great team would have easily won the IPL but Sachin is totally a disastrous. Most horrible captain I have ever seen.

pathetic captaincy
by mang on May 28, 2011 12:18 AM  | Hide replies

What a worthless captaincy!! Though he won the toss, he opted to bowl knowing very well that ball slows down in the second innings..then giving a first over to some newbee against a batsman like gaile...not asking powell come up in the order..is it called stupidity or over confidence...only his fans can tell!! I am sad that mi lost, but happy that a team under a bad captain lost...
