Now that he is ready for the England challenge. I guess it is the challenge of the time...

Regardless of results of previous challenges one is selected.

kohli has just one debut series, and not that he exactly failed there. besides, if people were to be dropped just after 1 series, no player would be able to play.

Kohli in the Windies played 3 tests, 5 innings with 76 runs at average of 15.20

That would qualify as an "exactly failed" in most books. Even in yours in case of Mumbai/Marathi players.

BTW for tests odos do not matter.

But can it take away from the fact that he has only played one debut series??! Your argument doesn't have much logic. If people were to be dropped after one failed series then the entire team changes every few weaks.

and what about mumbai/marathi!? are you here for just petty regionalism, like your name sounds like?

No - but how long should players like Rahane who are older and have a better record than your boy Kohli sit on sidelines while he gets "chances" is the question. Surely fairness applies to them to even if they are Marathi.

Yes I am a petty regionalist who supports Marathis and proud of it. So what? Like you are any different....

Oh - absolutely Rohit "Sharma" who also has an inferior record to Rahane in first class cricket. merit yeah!

In first class cricket
Rohit Sharma 43 matches 60.87 average with 10 hundreds

Rahane 48 matches 67.72 average with 17 hundreds.

Your definition of merit is just slightly better than your definition of "exactly failed".

selection should be on merit whether there are 11 from north, or south or east or west.

as for me, my first choice in tests for now would be rohit sharma.

your mentality is very unhealthy as it does not seek selection on merit , anyway there have been far more marathis than other communities who have represented indian cricket, so i guess you have marathi lobby at work there already.

By the same stretch of imagination our "god" sachin should've been dropped from all formats long time ago, by what your name sounds like you won't say a word against him.

either way, i personally am in support of sachin and you can often see me taking up for him because i'm not petty like you

Oh I could care less about Sachin - he is a big boy and can take care of himself. Never was much of a Sachin fan. My favs are Gavaskar and Laxman.

And yes I am Marathi and petty and regionalistic and parochial and proud of it. So what?

gavaskar was great no doubt.

i wouldn't be proud of a parochial mindset, ps. this is not your shiv sena or mns shala, right?

i wonder why people like you crop up to troll in cricketing forums, i don't see you commenting otherwise.
