Just cant understand the Sachin Bashing!
by nisha thoas on Oct 05, 2010 07:30 PM  | Hide replies

Whether we win or lose, be it 2020,odi,test, A big section of so called fans have to fill their quota of sachin bashing. THis is a guy who shouldered the nations hopes and hopes of 1 billion for 20 years, and he has not changed since he started. He is probably the greatest ever, and instead of chrishing this gem amidst us, we say he is selfish and bring up his 4th innings records. In the context of this match, 38 in the 4th innings is as good as a 100.

Never ever praise this Maratha blaster, his contribution in any major tournament is zero.He gives up the hope to raise country from dire straights. He played in many world cups. His contribution never brought us any major tournament/trophy.

cant agree more. his MoM records show it all. and people forget its a team game. he made 98 in the first innings. and got out to a wonderful ball in the game.
he is not invincible.

If Sachin's 38 in 4th innings is as good as 100, what is VVS's 73 in the same 4th innings, coming much later and that too when he was injured? Will you give his 77 equal to 300? I am not saying SAchin is good or bad but ITS SAD THAT BCCI IS CORRUPT TO THE EXTENT THEY PRONOUNCE THEIR "MAN OF THE MATCH" AWARD THRU THEIR OTHER END.

Actually, the problem is that most of us northies now hate marathis after these Thackeray guys came along. And Sachin is a marathi, so we hate him too. No other reason that that...

What appeared to be a certaibn defeat in the morning perticularly when Sachin gor out proved to be a tough challenge which the hero of many a crisis in the past namely one only VVS lakshman accepted with enormous amount of courage and conviction.Ishant Sharma who shattered the top batsmen of the Aussies with his precise and devastating spell yesterday and provided invalueble support with the bat today was in my opinion the man of the match

I agree with you. Ishant and VVS should have shared the man of the match. But Zaheer also bowled well, he got 8 wickets. Some really good contributions from Sachin, Raina, Dravid and Sehwag. So its a good team effort.

Really it was a great test match and great innings by Laxman. He always plays well under pressure. Also he plays like an artist with his elegant flicks off his pads and cover drives.
Kudos to Laxman, once again proved to be nemesis for the Aussies.

dont forget that its a team game. and moreover a MoM will be given to players who really contributed towards win, and sachin got more than any one else.
Also dont forget that it was one of the best balls in the game to which he got out.

see test match has 4 innings, 2 each for a team...
VVS really played an outstanding innings, but how does this make Sachin rethink about his retirement.
Especially when he was highest run-scorer in this calendar year.. don't forget he was top scorer in the first innings and 2nd highest in the 2 nd innings..
Now foolishly don't argue that had some body been his place things would have been much easier for India to win..
If such is the case then what about other batsmen right from Viru to Dhoni...

yuvi is an absolute loser. he is not fit for tests at all. there better palyers than him in india for test spot. raina already proved he is better, then you have pujara, rahane, karthik (may be), rayudu who can play long innings.
no doubt yuvi is still the best in ODI and twenty 20.

why do u thinks so... is he more effective than Viru, Gambhir, Dravid, Raina and Sachin...
What is his record in Test matches... the way u project, he must have completed match in 35 overs in 4th innings, as Indians lost their 5th wicket in 35 th over..
Think for urselves if he was the right player to bat on a 5th day pitch like this...

sachin is not selfish as we all think. but, hes not the kind of batsman who can handle pressure. that doesnt mean hes in the middle to play for records, but, its simply because he cant handle pressure

but, there are very few exceptions like 1998 sharjah, madras test against pakistan in 1999 and chennai test against england in that 387 chase..

That is what I wish to say.If a man who has played for more than 20 years for his country and can not handle the pressure, then he can not be termed as THE great player.May be he has scored more runs in terms of records, thye are only for his personal records.I dont know why people compare him with THE great Bradman.Until and unless one who can not surpass Brandmans record of 99.99 test average,29 centuries in just 50 tests no one is as great as Bradman even it it is Sachin.

Just because he hasnt played well today, doesnt mean he buckled under pressure. He has scored 1000 runs this year with an average above 90. That's more than you can ask from any batsman. Dont be over critical.

why so?
Since he scored 130 runs in the test match..
Or had he not played well in the first innings Aussie would have won the game itself...
OR because he is the first man to reach 1000 runs in this calendar year...
OR no batsman has his strike rate or average or combination of both in tests and ODIs..

Importantly, how is it possible to survive so long without performing well, if u think his performance was not good enough.

Congrats VVS, you are indeed special. However, I see a lot of abuse towards Sachin, Dhoni, Dravid. Do we expect all our top 7 to score everytime they take the field, its a team game. One will score and the other won't, its not just the batting that wins match, our bowling especailly Zak, Ishant and even out of form Bhajji and accurte Ohja were contributors. So why keep blaming one inidividual for any result. Why not just apppreciate the win and move on to the next. Next I expect to see Srikanth bashed for selecting Abhinav Mukund, who deserves it every inch for his amazing average of 53 and 2500 runs in 28 matches, including big, bold centuries abroad. Rahane is the next and also deserves, unfortunately his form in the last one year hasn't been spot on but he is getting back, moreover a south paw in the squad makes a difference.
