Michael Holding is correct and well said.
by Prashanth Sathyamurthy on May 20, 2010 07:28 PM

I agree that good cricketers remain excellent no matter what is the format. But players who are average in a 50 over game (especially those who can slog here and there)too can shine well in T20. You cannot distinguish between a good cricketer an average cricketer in T20. This the point and Michael Holding is correct

Steve:

Just pray that some of our "current superstars" too get a burning arsse..

Maybe they will perform at least 10% of what those greats did...

Otherwise you can keep dreaming that Ashish Nehra is a greater fast bowler than Michael Holding.... who stops you? :)

Balls! It's you who're a impotent moron calling Holding an idiot. You can never compare a ROLLS ROYCE (an epithet, the butter-actioned Holding is honored with) to an Indian AMBASSADOR or FIAT, mind you.

& what time you're talking about ass? We have time enough to waste years upon years in running futile cases & breeding Terrorists, we have time enough to throw national security to dogs & line up for protecting filthy moviedom, we have time enough to spend frutilessly on unending caste debates..........

You probably have no idea who Holding is and was.

Do watch some of his bowling videos on you tube and compare his class with today's guys.

Mr.Mishra, you have absolutely no understanding of what Holding is trying to say. He is absolutely right, and I am sure even Modi and the ICC know it. You will not understand as 1. You seem to be from the most advanced state in India - UP 2. You probably voted for Mayawati.

Go to sleep buddy. This aint your cuppa !!

PARTY GIRLS and PARTY BOYS will stay only for FEW YEARS
by JGN JGN on May 20, 2010 07:06 PM

This is a short form of cricket and the name should be changed as the skill set for short term cricket is different from a day long match.
Now a days everybody is after money and this greed for money is clearly shows sign of death of actual cricket game.

Action a player is remembering of slavery system in the early 18th/19th century, only differance is the slaver gets the money. Play two-three hours and enjoy with half naked glamour girls in the night parties. Is this game?

The person then will interest to play as his focuss would then be spending the money he earned and slowly he would retire from cricket.

Actually, he is right...ban this formatt.
Come on..we have more thrill moments in 5days cricket (Eng vs Safrica, India vs Australia series) and in ODIs too..This cricket is waste of skill. If ppl want to see short duration game, please switch to Football/hockey etc..
Cricket is meant for patience and test of stamina and mind.

People said the same thing when the 50 Overs was first introduced. Infact they were even more acidic towards the 50 overs than we are with the 20 overs.

I dont find wrong with any version, just that the interference of glamor needs to be cut down! Simple.

And just coz Holding is a great player....end of the day Cricket (be it test, 50 overs or T20) is bigger than him or any player.

Holding himself would have been a great T20 bowler. Fast accurate short-pitched - had the perfect ingredients of being unplayable in T20
