YES Provided.......... Vishy is also gets same status
by Kd Narang on Feb 27, 2010 11:05 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin Deserves Bharat Ratna ALONG with
Vishy Anand. It is Important to see IF cricketers are " SPORTSMAN" at all.
Cricketers are demanding only for Sachin.
Entire sporting community should voice for Vishy Anand, who is At Par with Sachin. Awarding to Sachin ALONE will be wrong.

The euphoria of Sachin's 200 at Gwalior simply refuses to die down. Though the innings was a feather in the cap for Sacin, it was by no means his greatest achievement thus far.
Demanding official recognition for him, is alright, but demanding it because and just after he made 200, is too much.

Mr, singh, the debate is here not on 200 only but on his whole carrer. He has made India proud many a times before. Since 20 years he has been like a role model for every player not only in cricket. Determination and passion for a game is required in every sport.

Kiran...
It is a proven fact that he (10du) fails.....Sachin can't play under pressure....
He made Double Ton because no pressure.....We won 1st ODI......no 3 or 4 wicket down......flat wicket.....Karthik was giving very good support........"pavilion Express" can't play in crunch situation

No chance to win WC....

Kiran...If Vinod Kambli played for 20 years...he can make 200 on flat wicket....there were no power-play (3) like nowdays......and I like Viru and his selfless bating......If he play like Sachin (selfish-way) he can break record very soon.....but some day he will break record....

Hi Mahesh
While it is true that Sachin had a consistent record of failures in times of need, and India had to lose many Test Matches because of his inability to stick around for an hour, but of late, he has shown remarkable improvement on this count too.
You should cast away your grudge.

ok then those 175 were also not under pressure. When he fought all alone and rest made a mess of his effort in the last, like Chennai test.
Of course he never played under pressure, his 6 centuries in a series final were just useless, a forth inning 103* aginst Eng chasing 387 were also useless, 134, 143 against Aussies in Sarjah chasing 272 & 280 scores were also useless. Actually all his big scores have come in dead rubber matches and when he failed to score those were the matches when India required him the most, no Mr. Dave?

Lucky guy Sachin! In his 20years as a member of Team India, i haven't seen his remarkable innings except few that he played to hold his place in Team India. Sorry to say! We never WIN any match with his exceptional contribution. As a captain he never win a match for India. India is thirsty for match winners not selfish guys!

Good News!!
by VASUDEVAN V on Feb 27, 2010 09:59 AM  | Hide replies

Glad to know that Maharashtra is going to recommend Sachin for the Bharat Ratna. He deserves it and hope he gets it. However, another sports person by name Vishwanathan Anand has excelled at the world level (the emphasis here is on the word `world' as Chess is played all over the world and not merely by 9 countries like cricket, out of which Bangladesh is unfit even to play in our Ranji, West Indies is in terminal decline and we do not play Pakistan)and has won WORLD championships in rapid chess, traditional chess (in fact he is current world champion in traditional chess and will be defending his title again shortly) and knock-out format. Anand certainly deserves the Bharat Ratna for his achievements at the world level, because he also as much of a Ratna for India as Sachin is. I hope the whole nation (and not merely Tamilnadu) recommends Anand for the Bharat Ratna to be given to him on the same day and time as Sachin!!! Is anyone listening?

Half of the world population follows cricket. And only few millions from India have shown interest in Chess, That is not even 2% of the world population.

Bharat Ratna awards to a sports person who plays cricket!!!..disgusting....

1)Game played by few nations and most of the cricket palying nations already showed disinterest n cricket(west indies ,australia...
2) Game dominated by climate(moist pitch ..ball turns,,,grass on pitch,,bouncer...ha ha ha
Everything is done by climate...what the xxx the player is doing there
3) People say it’s a pure team game....?????
look at footbal,basketball,vollyball...all the players of both the teams play together(11-11,6-6,11-11..etc)
but in case of cricket its always 11 vs 2(bats man) ha ha ha ..still its a team game...

kabhi kabhi player ko batting bhi nahin milta hain….ha ha ha

hi hi, since how many years Bindra is active in this sport? Sachin is a role model not only in India but in world wide. Every player who is playing or want to play want to be like him. His dedication, determination and passion towards cricket is just amazing. Playing for two full decades can wear and tear anybody, physically as well as mentally. But Sachin is playing more than efficiently than our so called young brigade.

You write as if Tendulkar is on top of the world.Remember that cricket is a game played by less than 10 countries making it the least popular game in the world.5/6th of the world population don't care about cricket.
And cricket was invented more than 100 years back in England.100 years is more than enough time for a game to become popular.Yet it is not popular.Hence it will never become popular. It will die out in less than 50 years as lara has recently stated.

Half of the world population? Oh, that is because you have taken our country's population which is half of world population. Come on man, wake up. Cricket is played by less than 5% of the countries in the world, majority of them being in Asia. Tennis, Football, Chess, why even badminton (where Saina Nehwal is presently world no.8) are really games at the world level. And I have said that Bharat Ratna should be given to two Indians, one who has excelled at the international level (Anand) and one at the nine-nations level (Sachin). I never said Sachin should not be given. So, what is your grouse?

Can you define national service? Tendulkar has not performed any national service, because he is paid for playing for India and earns in crores. He is a professional cricketer and has excelled for the country accepting money in the bargain. Anand is also a professional Chess player and has done India proud. Whenever and wherever he plays, the board in front of him says, `Vishwanathan Anand, India'. In fact, to put it bluntly Anand deserves it more than Sachin Mr.RNA!
