Players like Tendulkar don't need any rankings
by Rajiv Bhandari on Feb 25, 2010 08:18 PM  | Hide replies

Players like Sachin need no place in rankings for their wonderful performances as this master blasts holds n number of world records and is recognized worldwide. The rankings change every year and don't give recognition to such players just like no. of award functions in Film Industry.

but now even the ranking will be in his favour. whenever he has been fit enough, he has been ranked high.

this article wrongly says he was no.2 after cb series. he was no.1

It looks very interesting for the Indian achieving this feat in mens category. This feat has been done by a Aussie woman Belinda Clarke who have lead Australia to world cup win has made 250 in one day format .This means a woman has made this feat than a man could do this feat

my friend, that article must have been written by a gora to take away from sachin. that way, there may be many records that first achieved by a woman player. why only mention this one????

For godi godi, If hitting 200 is that easy, why sachin is the first one to make it? why other so called "GREAT" players haven't hit 200 yet?

MY IDOL
by yoyo on Feb 25, 2010 08:13 PM  | Hide replies

I was 10 when Sachin started playing for India. I literally grew up watching him play and he was the SOLE inspiration for me and my friends in school days and college days. I'm 30 now and he's still playing marvelously. I and my friends have stopped playing in our colony ground because presumably we have grown older. But look at Sachin at 36! What stamina, what power, what enthusiasm! I salute this guy, truly an inspiration for people of my generation. Youngsters or those who are about 20 now will not be able to appreciate this fact.

I want him to achieve these goals (in order) -

1. Test series victory in Sri Lanka. India will travel to Sri Lanka mid year for a Test series, and India has not won a test series there for a long time (more than 10-15 years).

2. Test series victory in South Africa. India will travel to South Africa by the end of this year.

3. World Cup victory.

4. Test series victory in Australia in 2011.

5. A triple hundred in Test cricket.

Yes , he is the one, who always lifts his hand up with one finger pointing upwards, whenever an appeal for lbw comes to sachin. His such decision cost sachin around 15 times or so

All these goals are personal achievements except Series win in S africa and the WC 2011. Sachin always plays for India and never thinks about self achievents. Thats why he is the greatest Bastman and finest sportsman ever.

Sachin plays for play and not for records. His beauty lies here.Cricket is his love.Cricket is his God.Sachin's devtion to his God deserves salute and a lesson for them who boast to build a temple for their God and break the Harmony of the Country.India gets strength from Sachin.India is weakened from self styled temple builders.

and ponting was helped by a dropped catch when he scored the double century against pak.

ponting's average has come down to 55 from 59. soon it will be below sachin's

in ODIs, his avg is lower

My Hearty congratulations to Sachin. I will not wonder if someone breaks this record in near future. The kind of pitches prepared nowadays for ODIs and the batsman favourable rules are making it simple to achieve this score. Full credit to Sachin for exploiting these conditions. All these records will go meaningless in 5 years time. Every tom and dick are going to score 200/300 in ODIs. Sorry bowlers, you have no choice but to suffer.

It is really possible...only factor which will stop that is " Stamina" of the batsman.

In 8-10 years these records will be rewritten...Lets hope that too will belong to an Indian if not Sachin himself

The coming generations will struggle to find out any cricketer whom they can put against Tendulkar for comparison. The dedication, zeal and consistency which he had maintained more than two decade itself proved him THE GREATEST. His yesterday's innings is batting manual for one day cricket. He played almost every shot in the book with amazing perfection clubbed with superlative skills. We are fortunate enough to share the same era with Tendulkar.
