Some consolation for SA
by netpal buddy on Feb 19, 2010 11:03 AM

That now they claim that they could trouble India in their own backyard is indeed some consolation for the Proteas. Some gain saying this. It's just oncoming ODI morale booster for them....anyway, he will not be here for the grind, thankfully.

He should feel happy that he could trouble kids like Vijay or Badri nath. India missed best players like Dravid, Yuwaraj and Lakshman in Nagpur test and SA was helped by rain and absence of Zaheer in Kolkata. I would say South Africa should be very content with this result.

The performance of South Africa
by radhubabbage on Feb 19, 2010 10:57 AM  | Hide replies

revealed the future status of Indian test cricket. Without the classies like Sachin, Dravid, VVS etc. any team can trouble Indians in the future days, to come. We saw that in the first one in which Dravid, VVS was not played. It is very difficult to find the replacement for them.

Dont agree with you.. IF you trace the starting phase of these greats, every one had difficulties.. So, lets hope the same will happen with Badri, Vijay, karthik, Raina, Kohli.

you are living in past glory. give up punk. have faith..young players will replace dravid, laxman and sachin. if you go by your theory, you should stop watching cricket as soon as sachin, david and laxman retried from cricket.

don't be overconfident

hey smith wen u won the 1st test, u said we deserver to b no.1 in rankings, but the fact is
u and ur co. especially ABD were over confident after the 1st test.

and the fact is U guys deserve to be on NO.2 spot.
Without dravid and Yuvraj, u got beaten easily, just think how it wud be if both were tere.

Dale steyn, where ur speed went in 2nd test &
u're lucky tat Yuvraj is not in ODI's.

also rain almost saved their fate, but it was only the hard work of indians ,which stunned proteas, also they could loose the match if rain was nt happened..

Smith u r wrong
by Kumar Chakraborthy on Feb 19, 2010 10:43 AM  | Hide replies

Smith is very muchwrong. SA never trouble the Indians. Only it has to be said that the young gungs of the new look Indian team in the 1st test fared badly. In the 2nd with the arrival of VVS there was total transformation. So a full Indian team is unbeatable anywhere in the World & so rightly India is the No.1 team i Test.

india always have problem in adjusting to different cricket format. if you see any series in last 2-3 years, india struggle for the first one day or test matches. they take time to adjust.
