I am not a Sachin hater. But the media is making me one. Cant stand the over-sensationalzing of everything. Sachin is the best batsman in the current team. But he is no GOD. He is an above average batsman with good skills. But he is not the ultimate. He is definitely not the Greatest ever. Imran & Richards are not respected for their personal records, but for what they did to their team. Sachin is way behind in that category. The usual question everyone ask is what is the other 10 people doing in the team? The answer lies in the question itself. The others are same as him. He is just one of the average (or above-average) player in the team.

Sachin was what Mark Waugh was to Australia.
But definitely not what Steve Waugh was.

Sachin was what Zaheer Abbas was to Pakistan.
But definitely not what Javed Miandad was.

Steve Waugh & Miandad showed their skills, when the teams were in dire-straits. When the scores are 100-5, Steve Waugh and Miandad show their grit and rescue the team along with tailenders...That is what makes a great player. Even Richards have said, if someone says your life is at stake, so send someone to bat, he will suggest Miandad to bat...

Bah! have you heard the story of barking dogs and the sun?! Sachin a media creation? wow! he has carried the expectations of a nation entirely on his shoulders like a collosus all these years and you say he is not like a Waugh or a pathetic Miandad!? these guys you name do not even measure up to the gavaskars, the vishwanaths and the Kapil devs. forget comparing them to Sachin. I am absolutely convinced you are not an Indian and just a rabble raiser. keep barking away my doggieeeeee...

You are true. Waugh and Miandad can be compared to Gavaskar, Viswanath and Kapil dev and not to Sachin because Sachin is way inferior to these players. But nobody can be compared to the great Sir Viv Richards who played attacking and destructive cricket in all pitches and batted without a helmet while facing world's greatest fast bowlers like Dennis Lillie and Jeff Thompson.

The media is not making you a Sachin-hater. Vivian Richards played at a time when he had Clive Lloyd, Andy Roberts, Malcolm Marshall,Garner, Holding, Croft, and the world's most formidable opening pair, Gordon Greenidge and
Desmond Haynes. India, or for that matter, no other team has ever had this kind of huge firepower. Winning became a habit with a winning team. Whining becomes a habit with those who see only Sachin as the one failure of Indian team.

this is all PR my friend. The sponsors on whose ad sachin appears, they have to hype him. this is ugly face of capitalism. Again media is paid to hype up and bloat the stories. A game played by 5 - 6 countires, what worth are the records. I would rather hold Asian games winners in high esteem. They had real competition

the moment you say it's a game played by 5-6 countries... you show your illiteracy over sports. Making your comments void.

By your way, they should have done the same for Ganguly when they sacked him, for Yuvi. And for Dhoni right now as he is the highest money getter these days.

In fact r what u said to NYY. Sachin is a gr8 batsman wen the pitch is not so gr8 and opposition is not flying. I rate Laxman Million times Better than him, wen it comes to doing a rescue act. Javed Miandad was a gr8 player, what he did off-field & facts like who is his son's father in law does not make him any lesser champion.

Is Harbhajan all-rounder?
by Ravi Kumar on Dec 27, 2010 01:27 PM

I don't accept him as all-rounder, he is a bowler, who can bat a bit. Of course, he scored two test centuries but still he is a purely a bowler.
