Good Hope
by Naveen Chirania on Dec 08, 2010 03:16 PM  | Hide replies

For the past couple of years, team INDIA had been good in 5 day format of the game, winning matches almost in every country they played.

Series win in New Zealand, England, West Indies proves that team INDIA can beat any opponents, with excellent squad & bench strength, this time, INDIA will beat AFRIKANS in their own den.

Apart from DALE STEYN, there is no quality in the bowling department, no ANDREW NEL, MAKHAYA NTINI or any other fast bowlers whom INDIA needs to worry of, if the batsman score huge totals, then there is no scope for AFRIKANS to win the test matches or series.

INDIAN bowling has been late good in this few years, ZAHEER, SREESANTH & ISHANT will do the job as they did earlier & with HARBHAJAN doing well both with BAT & BALL, BE-WARE AFRIKANONS.

@Naveen :- Dude, check ur facts... both times when SA toured here the series was 1-1. India would have almost lsot teh series here in '08 had it not been for BCCI to order the curator of Kanpur to prepare a rank turner.....and btw, dale styn is more than enuf to skittle india out...Indians are not good travellers mate....you r saying coz india has won da sries in NZ, WI and Eng.... NZ didnt hv shane bond and others..WI...is a useless team.. And if u r relying on zaheer, ishant and shreeshanth then its goodbye india.... shreeshant cant find himself inteh regular line-up over here coz of his haphazard bowling.. ishant sharma sprays all round the park..and btw, in SA they play with the kookaburra ball not SG balls as they play here..so zaheer will be easily negated..dude, its almost impossible to beat SA at home....they r da toughest...

and abt harbhajan :- he cant get enuf wickets on turning pitches in india..do u think he'll get wickets on green tops in SA ????
seems u r off ur chump !!!

do u think steyn can challenge indian batsman??If viru fires it may even be the last series for steyn. If he bowls at 150kmph, viru will smash at 200kmph.Nd for support we have gambhir who s back in form. And next 3 u knw wat they can do..we have zak who s far better than steyn...it will be a 2-0 series win for indians.First match they will draw for sure and next it ll be records one after the another.

dude, steyn is more tha enuf to bowl india out...he was a big threat here in india in '08 and '10... we r playing in his backyard...wont he be a threat....and btw, u r rite...
viru will be gobbled up easily by the short pitched bowling..same for gambhir...
abt dravid..he'll make a 50, tendu--60 ..and laxman...he'll be gone too.....

btw, zak bowls well only in india...as they play with the SG balls...

Its a natural habit for us indians to hype the indian team...but in reality we know that they r gonna lose..and lose pretty badly...lolzzzzzzzzz

Given that Viru has scored prolifically in South Africa with a whopping average of 26, I am suitably impressed by your bravado...

Kirsten would have by now passed on all the Indian secrets to SA players and coach... :-) In which case, India might loose the test / 1 day series against SA.

before india-sa series in 2008 ntini was a strike bowler.he was thrown out of the team after viru's triple ton in which he was hammered badly. Now its steyn's turn.

We have a good chance!
by Sudarsan on Dec 08, 2010 02:07 PM  | Hide replies

With Kirsten as our coach, we will have better understanding of the SA conditions and maybe an insight into how the SA players might think, their nature when it comes to taking decisions, etc. Having a South African as our coach will surely help. Already he is taking us to his academy early and is training our team there. I am sure the effort Kirsten is putting is intensive. Hope our boys benefit from it and capture the first of our two final frontiers (SA and Australia)

Re: We have a good chance!

It is more than the insight and understanding. It is about technique. The basic difference is that, in the Indian subcontinent, you play behind the ball where as outside you play beside the ball. It finally comes down to how good you can play the square-cut, the hook, the pull and back-foot drives on-the-rise. If the batsman doesn't have any of these, all they can do is just jump and tap the ball down (unless you have extra-ordinary wrist flicks like Azhar or VVS have). Even an 100 Kmph ball will raise above chest level, where as in Indian even an 140kmph ball will hardly raise above the waist level.

unfortunately none of the young players have this kind of above said technic and ability to play on these kind of pitches.....it's going to be a hard work for no.3 dravid and middle order....the inability to play against short pitch deliveries is mainly due to "under prepared mud tracks" of indian test centers...it's still going on....captain, team members , BCCI heavily influence pitch curator to prepare such kind of tracks in india....when there is extra pace n bounce ..team struggles...this is the indian cricket story...

Not possible to ball 3000 numbers. In a test mach only 2700 maxumum number could be ball. Means 90X6X5=2700 ball.

ULTIMATE TEST FOR INDIAN CRICKET

South Africa is the only main frontier to be captured and Indian players will surely suffer heavy casualties if South Africa pace bowlers are not met head on.
