what a shame
by rahul on Sep 29, 2009 06:05 PM  | Hide replies

what a shame............ now team india is praying for pakistan to beat australia.even if they beat australia, india will lose to west indies. this is not the no 1 team... say thanks to australia that they were losing and india went to no 1 position. and come on india have guts then they should reach semis on their own performances not on pakistans favour. and indian cricket fans need to understand the reality that there are teams out there which are playing better cricket than indian team.

SL wont make it, its Pak Aus NZ and Eng. Who ever we will get will be thrashed. Eng and NZ are not the sides that can match Pak. Aus and India are. India has been toppled and now will be paking their bags lets see what Aussies have to offer.

As still the hope is there... to win the last match and not to end at last in the table...Also, no body knows that what will happen to Aust and PAK match.. May be PAK will win.. then India will be in SEMIS.. if they win against WI.

no excuses for an under-performing teams. There is something called bench strength. Every team has to make sure their bench strength is strong as injuries are always part and parcel of the game.

Eng missing kp but their performance is best ever
Aus missing clarke and braken and still a formidable force. They were anyway never dependent on braken.

Problem is only with India. At least let us beat 2nd string WI convincingly i am sure thats also not possible.

No excuses guys

I do Agree with the comment you made...the reason is coz we always think that we have Sachin,Dravid, Dhoni & company...no doubt they are very good players ..our batting is strong on papers only...these big players should perform in the matches like INDIA vs PAK ...but now praying for for the team which we hate ...anyway who cares now india is out of this tournament ...better luck next time ...

INJURIES
by phaneeswar on Sep 29, 2009 05:55 PM

This Champions Trophy was not a successful one because most of the top teams have lost their key players and they are not that good with their squads.Any ICC events means we expect a full strength squad but this time it is not happening. Moreover this time the pitches in South Africa was ill-prepared and didnt looked like a 50 over format pitches. So this Champions Trophy is a utter failure and this a stepping stone for death of 50 over format and it is highly disappointing because this is the stage where there are enough concerns regarding this format. This is not a challenging event.

Team selection
by indira on Sep 29, 2009 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

Why Sreesanth, Balaji, V.R.V. Singh and Joginder Sharma are not being considered even though R.P.Singh, Ishanth and Bajji are failing repeatedly. If behaviour or temprament are the reasons against Sreesanth for not being considered what about Bajji? It looks like Dhoni has his own likes and dislikes when selecting a team. The selectors should be strict and tell the captain that he should play with the team selected by them and if the captain blackmails them by threatening that he would quit captaincy if he doesn't have his team, they should allow him to quit. The selectors should not be a puppet in the hands of the captain even if he is a successful one.

Equation......
by Leo on Sep 29, 2009 05:52 PM  | Hide replies

The simple equation is India lost by 54 runs and Australia won by 50...the overall difference is 104 runs,...If pakistan(imran Nazir) manages to win by 25-30 runs then india will easily can win by 75-80 run victry....Dont worry guys there is plenty left...I also think Yousaf should be part of 11, and he should be given chance in power play with free licence, i am sure he is a match winner guy....yes I agree to most of you, I pathan has very good record against pak, and he is much better bowler than RP and ishant,..he should be part of team if Zaheer in unfit....
