Ashes 2009.
by Lilamber Joshi on May 20, 2009 09:26 AM  | Hide replies

Seems to be the last series for Ricky Ponting provided Micheal Clark delivers.Ponting had had the worst two last years as batsman and his Captaincy is under question. He is very lucky to have bunch of top class bowlers and batters where no thinking as captain was required and he was winning because of their good work. Moreover he has played enough to say good bye to ACB.

Ponting will play for another five years. He has the best average of all current players who have played more than 50 tests. His captaincy beating SA in SA was first class. Lay off the drugs friend.

Better than that Selfish player who is considered as GOD in India.
Never played in any Major Cup Final except in 98 Sharjah cup and recent in England Test at Madras.

Why Jason Kreza and anderew symonds are not there in aussie team?
by Hiten Sheth on May 20, 2009 09:21 AM  | Hide replies

Hi, Jason Kreza had a very impressive debut in india in a test match where he picked up 12 wickets against a batting lineup of sachin, sourav, rahul, laxman, sehwag, gambhir, laxman and dhoni. after that he got only one chance in perth test against newe zealand where he did not do badly considering that perth wicket does not help spinners at all. after that he has not been picked by australian selectors for 7 test matches and not for one dayer or 20-20 also.

andrew symonds is also one of the match winners in all forms of the game.

it seems australian selectors are also like indian selectors. dropping players for no reason and picking for no reason.

Jason Kreza is a useless bowler. Though he picked up the wickets in the first test but he gave away plenty of runs. Infact he was the most expensive bowler in that test match as well. In the later matches played after that he gave away runs at the same pace was almost in-effective to take wickets. Thumbs down for him as of now

Jason Kreza picked up his 12 wickets for a total of 240 runs in his debut test match. that means, an average of 20 per wicket. Even shane warne or murli or kumble also have average greter than 25 per wicket. also he has got only once chance after that that too in perth test match against new zealand. he picked up 4 wickets in that match for 150 runs which is okay considering perth wicket does not support spinners at all.

he has a rare quality of flighting the ball and turning the ball which most of today's bowlers did not have. his replacements nathan hauritz or craig white do not turn or flight the ball at all.

so he should get another chance to prove himself and only after he fails for an entire series he should be driven out.

you can see andrew symonds performance in the pakistan ODI series and IPL. he is doing very well and he has proved himself in the past at international level in all forms of the game.

that is why he should have been picked.

Test match cricket is totally different from IPL and 50-50 Match. Krejza is picked for NZ test match and he didn't bowl well. He will leak runs which will put pressure on ponting, whereas hauritz will put break on scoring and also pick 1 or 2 wickets, so that ponting can give rest to his fast bowlers without much headache. Even hauritz will not be in playing eleven, they will play 4 fast bowlers north as all rounder for first test match. Symonds also failed miserably in the test match (in India and also against south africa). So the team selection is good.
