Time is Gold. Test cricket is waste of time for children.
by Jagdish Reddy on Jan 14, 2009 04:58 AM  | Hide replies

It is better to encourage children to learn swimming or athletics. Not test cricket. They will be wasting their time sitting under hot sun all day long.
Test cricket is a waste of time for everyone. It should die it's natural way. This is not a good move.

The proposal mooted by the little master should be taken in to due Cognizance.Oflate the shorter version of the game has gained more popularity than the longer version .People have lost interest in the longer version as they feel test crickek has lost its charm and it is no more appealling or interesting. Moreover no one has the patience and time to watch the game for all five days . Now it is high time to revive interest in the viewers before it fades away, especially in the generation N about the Nitigrities of TEST CRICKET to sustain and redeem the interest in them. This can be acheived by allowing the children to have the the feel of test cricket live with their criketing heroes playing the cricket in high spirits. Make test cricket intersting, gripping and should bring in results for the viwers to sustain interest in the longer version of the game, which i feel is slowly started to fade away.

Good thought but how about having it the other way around, Watch one IPL match and get a full test match for free.

:-)

i think this will be good for cricket as well as for the green park stadium in kanpur.
kanpur is an old city and it needs development.
cricket can just provide that

i ve been there for more than 20 years..it was not at all able to host any international match. It is just because of Jyoti bajpai's politics and links they are hosting such a big events.

TO CONDUCT A TEST MATCH, THE VENUE SHOULD HAVE A FIVE STAR HOTEL AND AIRPORT, AS PER ICC RULES. FORGET A FIVE STAR HOTEL, NAME ANOTHER HOTEL OTHER THAN LANDMARK. DO NOT MAKE PIGGMIES IN TO GAINTS WITH YOUR LACKOF KNOWELDGE OF ICC RULES

That is the plan... to make Test cricket popular again so that they have to give free passes to fill the stadium for the circus called IPL/ICL!

Good Idea

It will boost the game, also all test matches need to have a mandatory weekend. Did anyone see the dismal coverage of the Ranji trophy on the news channel. you give hayden's retirement as breaking news and dont care to report on the biggest domestic tournament in the country. Dont you know there are a dozen indian players who are part of the teams.

Test cricket - waste to time if not money
by pritpal Singh on Jan 13, 2009 08:22 PM  | Hide replies

It is shear waste of time to watch a match for 5 days...... if one does not care for money atleast. join sports that give quick decisions and make u more fit.... not where u r just fielding for the duration , may be get to bat for couple of hours .... or bowl if needed..... india should expand into other sports......
