A lot of people would not agree but the Indian one day team has been the best after the 1983 team . Ganguly, Dravid and Sachin were good with others like Jadeja, Robin and Azhar. But all of them had a defensive approach. But the current Indian team is more aggressive . Sehwag and Gambhir rock right at the top. Raina is a good one down batsmen. Yuvraj can bang any bowler in the world for a huge six, so can Dhoni . But Dhoni has realised with everyone hitting somebody needs to hold one end. So he has changed his game. Yusuf and Irfan can hit as well. Rohit has not been in good form . Robin Uthappa is another hard hitting batsman. For bowling years ago we just were dependant on Kapil, Srinath and Prabhakar . Rest all were minnows like Prasad. But today we have Zaheer, Ishant, Munaf, P.Kumar, Sreesanth, Balaji, Kulkarni , R.P.Singh. For spinners we had Kumble, Raju and Chauhan . Now we have Bhajji, Ojha and Mishra. We don't have a good backup keeper like Dhoni. Patel is good but not a good batsman may be in Ranjhi only. Karthik keeps dropping catches. With the current odi team there are atleast four part timers who are genuine batsmen like Yuvraj, Sehwag, Yusf and Raina. If India go in a match with seven batsmen including a wicket keeper , one spinner and three seamers they have eight bowlers in a one day match. A lot of choices are available. There are youngsters like Virat and C.Pujara waiting for their turn . India is certainly going to become a strong contender.

Somehow I think 1985 team is better than 83 , may be due to form or quality of the players. But current team is definitely a very good side and can give tough competetion to any team .
