AREAS HAVE THEIR SPECIFIC STRENGTH
by rambo only on Dec 16, 2009 09:42 PM  | Hide replies

LIKE MUMBAI - COMMERCIAL CENTRE - GOVT INVESTS IN COMMERCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE

HYDERABAD AND BANGALORE - IT / SOFTWARE SUPER POWERS,. GOVT ALSO SUPPORTS SUCH VENTURES

SIMILARLY

NORTH INDIA - CRICKETING POWER HOUSE.

SO BCCI SHOULD INVEST MORE IN NORTH.

IT IS SIMPLY - INVESTING IN CORE STRENGTH.

THOSE WHO THINK THIS REGIONALISTIC MINDED MESSAGE - ARE THEMSELVES NARROW MINDED.

An average batsman like Dhoni has played to the situation in a more matured way and saved our innings many many times in his short career.
Unfortunately the number of innings won or saved by Tendulkar or show of performance at crucial times are far less in his lengthy career.
For that matter, even Raina and other new bees have played to the occasions a lot more consistently than the God sachin.

Saravanan Subramanian,

Your are very vague in your opinion--sign of a guy suffering from inferiority complex, which also means you have no knowledge of cricket.

Go and check the records of all these players for winning matches and % of runs scored in those wins, then you will know the truth.
Winning a match does not mean scoring 20-30 runs in the ends.

you too don't seem to be precise in your info. Tell me a few recent occasions when India batted second, chasing a large target and tell me, what is Sachin's average in those innings.
Just blaming me doesn't help anything.

Sehwag is Sehwag…. replacable..non transfereable…non
by pradeep rodwal on Dec 16, 2009 09:40 PM  | Hide replies

Ok people..don’t have double standards here. Those who are hell-bent today on praising Sehwag will be the same people who will not even think once to criticize him tomorrow if he fails in 2 consecutive innings. All the pundits and experts out here and there will come out and will advise Sehwag to play according to the situation and change his temperament etc etc.

The USP of Sehwag and the key to his popularity has been his temperament. He doesn’t understand the situation of the match. He knows only one way of Batting and that’s attacking the opposition, no matter what. The day he changes himself and his batting style or his tempo, I reckon the Sehwag will die a death of Irfan Pathan, Debasish Mohanty, Ratinder Sodhi, Mohammed Kaif and Harvinder Singh of this world. Pls let him be the way he is. Let him entertain us the way he is doing. Let him reach the double and triple hundreds the way he is reaching.

And pls for God Sake, don’t compare Sachin and Sehwag or Sehwag or Viv Richerds. Can there be any comparison between Al Pacino and Tom Hanks or between Maradonna and Pele. Everyone out of these was just everyone. He was just HE. Non replacable..non transfereable…non comparable.

Thanks

Sehwag scored 151 at Adelaid w/o scoring a boundary. He made 201 n.o against Sri Lanka & carried the bat through. So dont say anything just for the sake of saying. If he can hit boundaries he can easily avoid hitting. A batsman's ability is assessed from his ability to hit boundaries at will. On that score no one compares with Sehwag

Yes, one can compare Al Pacino and Tom Hanks.
Toma Hanks--one of the most versatile actor, just like Robert De Niro--is much batter actor than Al Pacino

Shewag is better player...no need to compare with Tendulkar
by sujay on Dec 16, 2009 09:39 PM  | Hide replies

Shewag made against New Zealand, against Srilanka , where every other batsmen failed. He made in Pakistan, why Australia , they are no where in top to compare with.Who said hapless Srilanka, they almost had chased 414.How many 300 runs Tendulkar has like Shewag.Test Cricket is real cricket.
In One Days Ganguly was still better than Tendulkar.6000,7000,9000 Ganguly had taken least matches to reach

sehwag's triple hundreds and double centuries have all come in the sub-continent. sehwag is yet to prove his destructive batting in pitches abroad.

Get ur facts right before commenting. Sehwag has scored centuries all over the world with his attacking play. He does not need any more certificate from anybody! It is amazing that while he is being praised by a non indian such as ramiz raja, while we indians are hell bent on running down his achievements! Shameful!

if you say that sachin 175 versus australia is good then even that also was scored on flat track so the same word applies for your so called greatest player.please dont compare because unnecessarily you are making sachin the scapegoat for some abuses.sachin is sachin and virender is virender we enjoy both so better stop crying for anybody.
