KS:

Good to know that. It is indeed surprising that the rest of the world is perfectly fine with having DRS expose their "sportsman spirit", a la Strauss's "clean" catching and the "perfect" appealing for LBW's off inside edges. :)
But that's all right. We all need a pin cushion to push all our pented up feelings into.... so what's wrong with turning Ponting into one, claiming that all others are "doodh ke dhule" :)

Instead of DRS System,Why not keep out the umpires like Asoka D'Silva and Steve Buckner from International cricket.
I think that after this step, there will be no need to review the decission.
Mostly Indian cricket team has been affected due to decissions from these two umpires only

It is not up to a captain to do this. This is dangerous. Ricky applies the same pressure to the umpires as does Sir Alex to the FA referees in EPL. It is always a belief that the Aussies are supported by the umpires and with all these actions Ricky is trying to get the umpires to side with him, so he can get favourable decisions in matches.

Wrong!!!!

Arvind:

Good analysis. If Ricky speaks to the umpires it proves that he is influencing them.
If he doesn't speak to the umpires then it proves that he has influenced them to such an extent that he doesn't even need to speak to them anymore. :)
I like your logic tremendously. :)
What would you call excessive appealing adopted by all teams nowadays? Which made Sangakkara demand for DRS for all test matches after an umpire affected Mumbai test? :)

Because it will not benefit for aus/eng player

Autralia and England are highly benefitted by umpires wrong/one-sided decision histroically, so Ponding comment is not surprising...

Also India. That's why Sangakkara is making an opposite demand of HAVING DRS in all test matches after seeing how umpires give India the benefit. :)

What people will say If India loose the match ??????
by swetha on Dec 15, 2009 03:55 PM

When ever sachin makes 100 and india loose then people says sachin should retire.
If today If INDIA loose then people will say sahwag should retire because sahwag make 100 and india loose Crazy People ?????
When a batsman makes 100 then he has already made his contribution towards winning a match then it is the duty of a bowler to will the match.
So sachin always make effort towards the match winning but he not getting support from other 10 player.
Sachin is the Greatest player of the century ! ! ! ! ! !

DRS in tests
by mohammed ali on Dec 15, 2009 03:42 PM  | Hide replies

DRS is a shame and should be withdrawn immediately. Umpires giving right or some times wrong decisions are part of the game and has got its own charm. Referal system rejecting the decisions made by the umpire makes him look foolish and incompetent. Now with neutral umpires in the game doubt of umpiring bias also is removed.

Rightly said.
There is no need of this system.
Only due to few 'Defective' decision, the game of cricket has been affected.
Why not to sack these umpires or keep them away from international cricket

Rameshka:

:) Good one. And all the bump catches claimed by other teams are also due to Ponting. ;-)
Ponting also confirmed Strauss's bump catch in the recent Ashes series too, right? :)
And after that he cribbed for 10 more years about how unsporting Strauss was and how only one team was playing in the spirit of the game. :)

40 wickets fall in 5 days, 20 wickets fall in 100 or 20 overs?
by pravin sarode on Dec 15, 2009 01:05 PM  | Hide replies

ricky pointing, t dilshan all best batsmen must learn bowling like sehwag, gayle cris. all rounder is required to win the match like kapildev, andrew fintoff, irfan pathan, ajit agarkar. actually the selection criteria for all teams must be 3 bats men, 4 all rounders, 3 bowlers & 1 wicket keeper. jack of all is master of non is true but when going gets tough then the tough gets going is the theame. so sachin was also a bowler but his health does not permit him to spin the ball but sachin won one day against south africa at kolkata with just 196 target. last over bowled by sachin gave him title WONDER BOY besides LITTLE MASTER. so afte all cricket is bowlers game but it is pity that to keep match last for day 5 in test & over 50 in one day pitches are made a way that pitch turn out to be graveyards for bowlers. but t20 must be graveyard for batsmen not bowlers to keep the spirit of cricket? murali had the worst spell in india till date 195 runs 5 runs short of double century in breborne just like sehwag 7 short of 300? bowlers must be given due opportunities other wise cricket will die its own death. people will come to watch match when india scores 414 runs in 300 balls 30 runs short of shri lanka against hollow land. history does not repeat every time. people will be boared slowly and stay away like me from tv set to drop trp. so lot or revision is required to be made in making pitches bowlers friendly so that 40 wickets fall in 5 days, 20 wickets fall in 100 or 20 overs?
