Tendulkar Plays and Records/Stats gets created
by Kempt Killer on Dec 04, 2009 09:48 PM  | Hide replies

For those who people think that Tendulkar just play for the record/stats, Please understand one thing that whenever he plays .. the records just happen. Do you think he intentionally gets out when team India wants him? And we ourself have made those statistics and records in order praise our little master. His Debut itself was a Record that time. Every time he plays the records gets created and added to his career. His Records are surely overwieghs his match winning innings, But Its always the records that are published in media, "Man of Match" does mean a match winning inning, out of which we might have just lost 10 .. and he has a record of that too. Or else Tell me any other person who has played more match winning game that his man of the match innnings. Tell me one Indian Cricket Player who has won India more games than Sachin Did?

Sehwag is also being praised today. Now he is being compared with Viv Richards and Jayasurya !! Did anyone mention about tendulkars 50 in todays match? Everyone is praised accordingly,

Its not a mistake to play and simultaneously those statistics do their work, as it do for Tendulkar.

In Ahmedabad match, he was batting and the fate of the match was decided, the captains were of the favor to call off the match, but he put pressure on the captain to get the play on for another 30 overs just to add another century to his records.

In 2002 in Pakistan, he added only 4 runs in 60 minutes to reach 194 from 190. The captain Dravid had to declare the innings as the match was going out of control. Tendulkar was very angry with Dravid for not letting him make his double century and he attacked the captain in press conferences and complained against him to BBCI.

Tendulkar plays only for personal records and money, team success is secondary for him.

Well, in Ahmedabad match, Dhoni himself commented "If there are milestones to achieve and if they deserve it, there is nothing wrong".. and if you are talking about SriLankans... Those played the match which was surely gonna draw.. they played till last day to score 952 ! Cant sachin play till 100? and Sachin didnt put pressure on any captain, and if BCCI is paying for every century, one should always earn !

There was Laxman, and two umpires and San`kara. And everybody knows that if a player is so close to a personal milestone, you do not stop play. You let a peak be scaled, you do not send players back, after comin so close. Everybody knows, and umpires, Laxman, San`kara, all must've decided to let Tendulkar get his century. And Tendulkar, being modest man would have gladly come back, if the umpires had decided to end play.

ponting's record is close to sachin.. but aussie team doesn't drown in one player's..presence or aura..they are always more equal unit.. and each player performs..
their record speaks for themselves.

The problem with Tendulkar supporters is that they treat him like S0nia G.. If the team succeeds, its due to Mr T. If Team fails, Its the team that failed not Mr T. :-))

Hope other cricketers get their due credit!

Because of obsession with Tendulkar, our media and cricket fans have totally ignored the equally great contributions of three outstanding cricketers for India's cause (the emphasis here is on India's cause) during the same period. The three cricketers are Kumble, Dravid and SHEWAG. One only hopes that we overcome the obsession with Tendulkar and doff our hats to the equally great contributions of these three outstanding cricketers also. Like Ajay Jadeja (he is a great fan of Tendulkar) put it, greatness is not in statistics - 10,000, 20,000, 45 or 50. These are mere numbers. One has to accept the fact that after Viv Richards, Shewag is the most devastating destroyer in the annals of cricket.

i dont think india have forgotten Dravid, shewag and Kumble....Everybody gets his due as per his performance..and who says stats are not important???

Yes there is no doubt Shewag is one of the most destructive batsman alongwith viv richards and Jayasurya...But Sachin, lara and ponting are different kettele of fish...Shewags of the world cant be comnpared with these greats..But i am sure in due course of time Shewag will reach ""great"" status...

Mr.Ashish Tiwari: I think what you have stated is perhaps more true of another cricketer presently in the Indian team who is referred to as God!Are you criticising Dravid because he has not paid you the 10%!

Mr. Baloon,
He is talking abt the future( may be 1 or 2 yrs down the line). I dont think India has to think much abt Laxman's replacement. ha ha ha!!! Just bcoz he is sticking on to the team he has stuck on to FAB four as well. Am i right Rajesh??

ya your absolutely right but being a such fabulous cricketer in the world histrory i dont understand these selecter who left dravid in team 11. he is performing consistently well enough but what wromng with these selecter...Dhoni has to rethink again about this bcoz dravid is having very short span of time in his career he has to give some opportunity to prove himself that he is best. but youngster still have time to settle..

no way even though he is a good player but its very rare and very difficult to find a player like Dravid..iam very sad that even though he playing well still these guys plays a politics for selecting him for one dayer....he plays well when things go well but he go for defence when time require him to stay on....our performance is not how well we play the shot but how well he handle the situation but unfortunately people could't understand this logic...
DRAVID IS BEST EVER AND FOREVER...HE IS OUR MOST LOVING CRICKETER THAN ANYBODY...NOBODY HAVING THE STYLE AND TECHNIC AS HE HAVE...

How abt 20-20? Do you think dravid has been void of ODI opputunities? Then u may hav to look back into his stats. He plays well but for ODIs the requirement is not only class but timely application of cricketing mind.. precisely how the Tendulkars and the Gangulys do in crunch situations. I can quote a number of scenarios when a match had 80 runs frm 100 balls to end up like 35 from 18 balls. Is that necessary or acceptable by any means??

dravid is a parasite hanging out there through connexions and just to earn money for himself. No other team in the world has anyone called 'wall' just to waste balls. Every player makes or at least tries to make runs at fast pace in ODIs. Dravid has made India lose so many ODIs beacuse his slow batting raises net run rate and other players start hitting and getting out.few fooolish indians never realize this. Any shame, he would have opted out of the team 10 years back..its very strange selection committee continues to elect him in the team. maybe he pays them 10% of his earnings in a deal because he does not deserve to be in the team.

We have seen all this before!! Prem, you should know better than this! You are not an average cricket fan! We should wait to see how Vijay will perform overseas before heaping praises on him!

We have seen it happen with Raina and Rohit neither of whom r yet to impress at international stage, particularly tests!

So, let us stop doing this "immature" columns! Hold your horses!

Good approach. But Iam afraid your statement may be easily misunderstood. You sound like encouraging the youngsters to sit outside the team and pray God with all their might for a puncture in one of the tyres(players)... LOL!!!
