I strongly feel that T20 WC Win was a fluke and Indian Team was on the verge of being kicked out from the turnament early on. This was proved once again during 2nd Edition T20 Games. Players like Yuvraj, Rohit Sharma have yet to mature in the Game either T20 or 50 over. Incidentally MSD has also lost his power in the shots and now run for Singles & Doubles. Players like Dravid are best suited for the game based on their committed and grounded nature. Indian selectors have no choice but to go for Old Work Horse and should grrom Raina and others under Dravid.
Why don't we call Ravi Shastri, Sourav Ganguly or Kapil paji then ? At they were better players than Dravid in One-dayers !Or more realistically Laxman whose strike-rate is much better than Dravid .

Laxman was a torture for indian team in ODIs. please check his strike rate and winning contributions against Dravid.

r u mad or what? when hav u seen laxman's strike rate better than Dravid? even at one time it has become so, it didnt lasted longer in the long run Also when pushing the acceleration button in slog overs or so whenever, laxman always gets out - this is fixed
It clearly shows if you have the right strings to pull and a godfather who can gain by your reslection or rentry dead or dying players can be resurrected. when will these dead stars formally retire/ be buried.

better for what? TO keep loosing? If sanath is playing in his team, who is 4 years older to dravid, why cant dravid play? youth can be included but, they have to win right? more over, now also we have decent mix of youth.. I guess, Virats, rohits and jadejas should go and make lot of runs and show consistency again..

Please for heaven sake not R JADEJA ... I did rather have irfan Pathan in the team trying his best to win than Jadeja ,who plays for himself.
You are mentioning Tendulkar is Tendulkar, than what about Dravid ? He also scored 10000 runs in ODI's. He is performing consistantly in tests, what else he needs to do ? If tendulkar can be accepted even at the age of 36 than why not Dravid ?. Don't have double standings. Let us wait and watch how he will perform in the next series.

perfect. when tendya ( by the way i am also a fan of tendulkar) fails it is ok but wen (who i feel is as good and as useful as tendulkar) dravid fails it is time of introspection. dravid in fact is a better match winner!!

Agreed, Dravid is also a legend like tendulkar. And if Tendulkar can be in the team as long as he wishes. So should Dravid be...
Dravid should be back as a captain. At least politics and highhandedness by Dhoni and some high thinking players can be eliminated. Difficult to digest indiscipline and too much talking.
Is recall of Rahul Dravid not the step to his retirement. I think the selectors gives a chance to Dravid for declare his Retirement after Champions Trophy
i think this is a good decision because we saw how the younger players were playing short bowling in T20 world cup and against westindies in One day series but Draivd far more Technically correct then the younger players so i beleive good decision to recall Dravid.
Indian Cricket team definately needs a player like Dravid in the team 11. He may not bat as fluently as Yuvraaj, Sehwag, Dhoni or Raina. But his role in the team would be different. And if used properly, he still can be a series winner player for India.
