Dravid : The Wall
by Roger Federer on Sep 12, 2008 10:39 AM  | Hide replies

It's amazing he has only 5 ducks in 214 innings of his career.
He has not much stamina like he has 2 years ago. But still he can play 80-120 runs inning.
We have no back-up of Dravid yet.
Just give him one more series against Australia to perform, if he fails we have to take risk.
Upcoming series is crucial for Kumble and Dravid.

We can't forget the match winning inning of Dravid and Sachin in Perth test recently.
Kaif, Yuvraj and Raina are capable to take place of Ganguly. So Ganguly's exclusion doesn't matter. He was never an extra ordinary player in test. Laxaman is best in test.
Elimination process has been started, but no need to drop all the seniors at a time. We have to find replacement of Kumble and Dravid as soon as possible.

LET ALL INDIANS ACCEPT SOME BLUNT REALITIES. PLAYERS LIKE EAS PRASSANNA, BS BEDI, BS CHANDRASHEKAR, GR VISHWANATH, RAHUL DRAVID PLAYED FOR COUNTRY WITHOUT ANY SELFLESSNESS AND GANGULY & SACHIN CANNOT BE COMPARED TO THAT LEVEL.THEY ALL SHATRED THEIR BOOTY IN MATCH FIXING WHEN DALMIA THE ISI AGENT RULED BCCI.

Dravid was a stupid thick headed captain. Because of we had such poor outing in WC 2007.
He was good test player but now he cant even play properly in test. Its time to throw him out.
Stupid thick headed guy.

Dravid is still a force to reckon with
by Guest on Sep 12, 2008 10:36 AM  | Hide replies

Everyone criticising Dravid for his poor show and suggesting its time for him to Retire sould think not twice, but 100 times.
No need to mention of all illustrious performances of Dravid over the years because a quality player like him doesn't wan't to be in the team based on past achievements but based on what he can offer even today.
He scored lesser no of runs in Lanka but the no of balls faced/stayed on the wicket shows his ability especially wrt test cricket. He is a very good one day cricketer also who always played for the team, but since we have younger options and a Captain who wants to have Dictatorship and very selfish with good luck for the time being, Dravid is out of One Day Team.
What did Dhoni do with the Bat against Australia in test matches in Australia and what he will do in India is a big question mark.
Sanjay manjrekar was a high quality Batsman but with lot of bad luck. I would not only say his remarks for Dravid are correct but they are incomplete.

Yes , Dravid is the most selfless cricketer we have seen, not only in India, But in the whole world. It was he who gave full opportunity to Sehwag, Dhoni and Harbhajan, when he could have easily omitted them.
The Australia series will tell the rest.

Due to poor umpiring he suffered in Sri Lanka and Australia. This was evident on TV. It is the tendency of us Indians in general to condemn a player when he is down by forgetting his past contributions.

we should consider fav 2 only they are laxman and dravid.sachin is like balloon jo thora sa pin karne per phat jata hai.i dont rember his match winning knock in his 39 hundred when chips were down apart from his 154 not in chennai in 1998 thats a decade before, i assure you my frnd if i also get those no. of chances to play i will also played atleast 1 inngs like that on my day.these mumbaikar people try to project him as a greatest player of alltime, waht a joke, the player who never stood in time whenever team was in crises how can he be greatest ever? as far sourav ganguly is concerd his contribution to team india will be written in golden world in history of indian cricket, who teaches us how to win abroad, how to make unity in team. whereas mumbaikar player always plays poltics.i think for outser of sourav these mumbaikar lobby has played the role bet on it.

ahh! Sachin is trated as a grat player not only by mumbai, AUS trat him as great, ENG trat him as a great, Total warld treat him as great. And as far as me considered Sachin and sourav are great players than dravid and laxman. And Dravid is selfish player, bcauz his strike rate tells about his selfish.Somebody told that he did wicketkeeping, he did it for his place in the team and afterwards he took revenge on sourav, who is the greatest captain for me.

DRAVID IS A CLASS PLAYER
by Rengarajan on Sep 12, 2008 10:24 AM  | Hide replies

In his worst form, he averages 34.27 Look @ Ganguly he averages a paltry 16 in his worst form. Ofcourse I'm not justifying Dravid's poor form. India's Batting revolves around him and he should get back to his old ways where he was averaging 58. Ganguly, Sachin should be phased out first and the youngsters should play, learn and get some experience with Dravid. I believe he and laxman have still got the skill to play another 2 years for India in Test Cricket. The selectors should use their services properly before phasing them out also.

You dirty mind Ranga-Billa come out of your regionalism supporting mindset. Dont ever compare Dravid and Tendulakar. Will anyone forget the incidence when he declared Indian innings when Sachin was on 196? This dirty mind never wanted Sachin to score double-hundreds more than him. Ofcourse Dravid is a good batsman, but in terms of both Team spirit and talent, he is far behind Sachin.

CRICKET SELECTION
by Dwaraka Nath on Sep 12, 2008 10:24 AM

NOW MEDIA IS SELECTING THE PLAYERS AND NOT THE SELECTORS. IT IS NOT JUST HOW MANY RUNS ONE SCORES, IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT HOW MANY RUNS HE HAS SAVED, HOW MANY CATCHES HE HELD, HOW MANY WICKETS HE HAS TAKEN, IN ADDITION HIS ATTITUDE, TEMPERMENT ETC ALSO SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. JUST BECAUSE SOME ONE IS DROPPED, MEDIA SHOULD NOT CREATE HYPE AND ONE SHOULD NOT BECOME INDISPENSIBLE. ONE SHOULD NOT DECLARE THAT TWO OR THREE MORE YEARS HE CAN PLAY CRICKET.
