Comments are bound to be made. But that may not be always right Geoffrey. I have seen this man criticizing Dhoni for his technique. That was when Dhoni started becoming a sensation. If I remember correctly, that was when he made those brilliant 183 against Srilanka. This idiot then said in flat pitches Dhoni may score runs but in bouncy pitches like in Australia he doesnt see Dhoni scoring runs! Now wat does he say? This year in the down Under series Dhoni was the most consistant of the whole lot of players from the three countries and that too in the bouncy pitches of Australia. Bradman may be a great player. But comparing him with Sachin make no sense simply bcoz the situations they both played cannot be compared. Cricket being a mind game, if Bradman wud have to face the same pressure Tendulkar have faced throughout his career I am not sure if he wud have done the same he have achieved. The era when he played, there was no pressure on him to perform or rather the pressure was too low compared to today's. Having said that 99.96 his average is not even any great batsman can think about. The point I am trying to make is these two Sachin and Bradman cannot be compared.

this same boycott said Shewag if he bats the way he does in test cricket as a opener he wont get very far.. well he avgs a tad over fifty a healthier avg than boycott who would bat for 3 days to score a 150...

well i think if Bradman bron in modern era he wont hav that much avg, bcoz there are new techniques 2 analyze the batsmen n they will exploit the weakness if there is any... i m not saying Bradman is not gr8, but he wouldnt hv that much avg if he played in current era...

Then why didn't everybody who played in Bradman's era had an average that could compare with Bradman's? Self styled know-alls like you are framing useless arguments to belittle the genius of Bradman in trying to bring him down to Tendulkar's (just another great player). The fact perhaps is: that in this era of covered pitches, Helmets and other protective gear, Bradman could hardly be dismissed at all. Bradman was and will always remain Head and Shoulders above the rest of the lot. There is no need to argue this point.

bradman faced tremendous pressure, australia have always been the M0ST demading sports country, here in india, our overrated cricketers got a grand reception after getting hammered by oz in 2003 world cup, these instances always happen in india, sanjay manjrekar said that when india returned from australia in 1992 after loosing the test series 4-0, odi series 2-0(in best of three finals) and the world cup, there were 90000 people at the bombay airport to see the cricketers.

Dear Seejo: I admire Dhoni for his aggressiveness & captaincy. But you got the facts completely wrong abt Dhoni - Anyway Dhoni was a big flop in Aus in Tests. His avg was 17.62 as you see below. If you are talking abt one-day cricket, one-day cricket is not the measure of real batting skills though it is a different skill to be successful there. Also please know now-a-days, pitches for one-day cricket are made batman friendly & also bowlers are restricted by # of overs & bouncers. I was not wrong my dear frnd. When I said he was most consistant I meant one day international only.Whether test cricket is the yardstick to measure one's batting skill or not is something to be debated. Did u see the match at blore. Did u the first three days of the test. There is no one at the stadium. Test cricket is dying my dear frnd. Personally I love cricket watever be it's form. But oneday Cricket is entirely different from test cricket. If one can play well at test cricket that doest mean he will do well at onedays. Also in my previous comment u shud see the contest in which I said that. Geoffrey made that comment about Dhoni when he made that knock in a oneday International. The contest when he was making that comment was about one day international and he didnt specifically say test cricket. To be successful in test cricket one shud be technically very correct. But that doesnt mean every gud test players wud do well at Onedayers. If pitches are more batsman frndly bowlers also developed many new weapons. The support bowlers are getting from the fielders have changed drastically. Somebody above told about the helmett and all. In cricket nobody gets out if bowl hits the batsman's head.
the thing about lara that makes him very special is the fact that no-body could stop him when he was on song, on his day he was the best, but tendulkar has been more consistent and has never lost focus in his career. Sachin is prepared to shed his ego as a batsmen, for example in the 2003-04 australian tour he kept getting out playing the cover drive, so he decided not to play that shot and got 241* at sydney and did'nt play the cover drive for the best part of 10hrs, i'am sure lara would'nt bat with so much discipline, if you compare the two as cricketers sachin stands out becoz of his odi record and he is a better fielder than lara. But it's difficult to compare them as captains as both were unsuccessfull.
Shane warne the greatest legspinner or all times rate him at no 1, greatest batsman Sir Don Bradman rated him best,wisden the bible of crcket rated sachin second best in test after the Don and infact in 2003 rated the best batman in ODI surpassing Sir Viv Richards too. Soit does not matter what people lik you think or say. These are those who breath cricket in and out. There start thinking at the point where people like you stop. and if you still think that what you say is right against such legends then there is no bigger fool in the world then you....i can give you lot more stats,figures and facts, but i thought i just ou know what the cricket world has to say and not spectators

ya...if wisden made d rank now,he will be the no 1 in ODIs...he has done far more than richards & every1 else in ODIs...bradman & sachin are greatest batsmen ever
sachin got only useful hundreds and sachins hundreds also went in vein .. go and check records mental fellow. now abt 88 when india were 163/4 .. well well. what a pity. Lara did that Millions of times. and Lara never end up scoring low scores like 88. even no support from other batsmen also Lara is the man who single handedly won games for windies. 213,153 are examples. if their bowlers cant get opposition out what he can do for that. Also about 400 of his - lara left 143 overs to bowl out england in that drawn game. 143 overs are a lot lot of overs to bowl a team like england. also there is no peterson in that line-up. yet they can bowl out. what lara can do for that. go and check the scorecard. to get england out 70 overs is enough. normally for anyother team. sachin may have only saved some matches - Lara won matches - test matches. understand. out of 34 test 100s 24 atleast are masterpeice. do you know. go and check it. Laras innings have more value than sachin. sachin scoring bcoz he is playing more games.

Even sachin won us a series against australia in 1998, would anybody rate his 155 in chennai any less than lara's 153. You told sachin is scoring becoz he playse more games, for playing those many games you need to be good enough, infact this is where sachin scores over lara his longevity is more.

MR vakilraj it is better that you go and check the number of match lara took to score the runs and the number of match sachin took to score the runs,the pressure sachin has to play under and lara has to play under,the consitency sachin showed in his career and lare showed,scoring 400 in a match and then scoring less then 20 in next 20 match is not cricket of great player,got that right,i never doubt or said LARA is not a great player but dont argue on something which is not there to argue and when you dont have correct facts,its better if you check the facts and thne come here

Those are great innings indeed by Lara. What an innings that was. Single handedly beating australia is a great thing. Sachin also played good innings but not as great as Lara thats for sure. Particularly in Test cricket.
