Yes. Ponting never plays to save his ass from suspension. He believes in giving chances to non-bowlers to bowl.

DL METHOD - UNFAIR TO TEAM BATTING 2ND
by rambo only on Nov 24, 2008 09:18 PM  | Hide replies

This method is blatantly unfair to Team 2. recall how South Africa, requiring 22 off 13 balls to reach the World Cup finals, were suddenly asked to score 21 runs in one ball when a short shower took two overs away! (the rule merely chopped off two 'tiny' overs, which yielded 1,0 runs, from the right extreme of the re-arranged 'Manhattan').

SO DL METHOD THOUGH VERY GOOD, IS STILL UNFAIR TO TEAM BATTING SECOND

Duckworth-Lewis rule did not exist during 1992 world cup, there was something called "Rain-Rule" during that time. After the World Cup however, it was dropped due to its disadvantages. Even India suffered due to this rain rule against Australia in the group stage.

Dhoni need not avoid Team B option
by D S on Nov 24, 2008 07:45 PM  | Hide replies

Both Dhoni and Sehwag have mentioned about rotation of players. Which is good thing.

Sooner than later, we will want to have Team B operational (which is almost same as Team A ), Dhoni can stay in both team A and team B, the difference is that in team B, the captain could be Sehwag or Yuvi. Both Team A and Team B will cooperate. Dhoni can opt for rest from team B.

Team A can still maintain Dhoni as the captain.

Over time, the Team A and Team B can resolve many problems such as selection of players, rotation, resting, dealing with burnout, captaincy transition, cooperation between team A and B, etc. etc.

Buddy you cant have different captains for the same side. That will create a lot of confusion and mere insecurity among players.I acknowledge your suggestion apart from having different captains.
