Sunil Gavaskar apart from great cricketer is also a great personality of ICC. ICC knows that he cannot be sidelined or ignored, otherwise they will have to pay huge price for it. Because, apart from Gavaskar, they may also loose Ravi shastri, Harsha Bogle, and other important present & ex-cricketers from the world scenario.

I did not know that Harsha Bhogle or Ravi Shastri work for ICC. Dont compare ESPN commentary with ICC. Perhaps you need to learn what ICC is first
AS A TRUE FAN OF GABASKAR...I WELCAME THIS NEWS...GABASKAR IS A GENTALMAN...LONG LONG AGO WHEN THEIR WAS NO MUCH MEDIA TELIVISON...I USED TO LISTEN ALL INDIA RADIYO....THEN ALSO CAME BLAK & WHITE T.V. ...I SAW MANY MANY TEST MATCHIS THOSE DAYS...GABASKAR WAS AND IS ALSO STILL ROLE MODAL FOR MANY MANY INDIAN AND WORLD YOUTH.... LONG LIVE GABASKAR....INDIA IS WITH U AT ANY COST...WE WIL FITE FOR YOU...ANYTIME ....ANYDAY...ANYWHEIR......
its good that gavaskar is forthright in his comments. he talks the bitter truth about the anglo-aussie unholy alliance to keep cricket exclusive and within their control.
dont you see the trend ? whenever indians assert themselves its called as bcci flexing its money power. that anglo-aussie fellows have been i ncontrol of the board is supposed to be assumed by everyone else. why live in their shadow ?

what exactly are you opposing ? gavaskar has taken it upon himself to respond on behalf of a lot of ndians. we cant be stomped around by the english and the aussie media/ business and beauroc-rats.
bcci doesnt believe in talking to them squarely - they know only brinkmanship, in such an eventuality, its good that gavaskar makes it clear of what the sub continent thinks.
there are others who think that critics need stature or else they will not be counted. australia gets its strength from winning, england from the fact that they started cricket, and we are the economic powerhouse of the game, as well as producing fine cricketers - despite that we've been dubbed as outsiders, its time guys like gavaskar are supported, nevermind his character. he's doing a good job!

Friend,
Gavaskar is the real leader of Indian cricket. Those other elderly statesmen of Indian cricket (including the ones calling Gavaskar "A Destructive Force")and those great commentators speaking in polished English and those administrators....they never dare to speak for the cause of Indian Cricket. It is Gavaskar who always speaks for Indian Cricket. So stop abusing him.

If he had any self respect he would have stepped down long back...!!Maybe we are getting a lil carried away when we say that he is a visionary and ICC is going to loose a lot if he is sacked and stuff... lemme tell u something this is the same guy who went great lengths to claim Ishanth Sharma was an ordinary bowler. He claimed he bowls at 120's and a couple of matches in Ranji doesnt merit a place in the test side.. If this is what u call vision .. i guess ICC is much better without this crucked vision

ICC had always been puppet of Aus and England. Now power equation is changing and yes when ever required BCCI is able to twist arm of ICC and I am proud of it. why cry foul now ??
