the award was created in the name of Dhyan Chand does not mean that only hockey players should receive. Moreover, its the responsibility of each sports body to nominate from their respective sports for awards and finally the awardees will be chosen by an independent panel.
WHat the hell, BCCI alias Sharad Pawar is trying to make. Prove Dhyan CHand, a cricket player. I am totally against THE DECISION that the sportts which should get some boost up by getting soe reward, i.e. Hockey. That one is getting ignored by Dhyan Chand Award.... These politicians............
If I'm right, DyanChand is a gifted hokey player. For the pristegious award in his name, don't we have even a singly deserving hokey player. It is pathetix that this coutry is Criket alone is considered as sports & recognized.. Only if this change India with over billion population can aspire for atleast 1 gold in olympics..

Very Correct! Please start a award maybe in the name of Ranjisinghji to be given to cricketers, so on for all other sports other than hockey
