If you understand that then that's your limitation of thoughts! I meant feilding is not of the prime importance which can score over batting or bowling abilities, feilding is an additional attribute which is an added advantage only! To round off a great batsman with average feilding abilities should be accepted than a great feilder with average batting or bowling abilities!

Please take the trouble to refer the 2007 ODI stats and see how many in this Indian Team have better run agregate than Ganguly! For Ganguly atleast I feel form was not at all the selection factor, it was Dhoni's comfort which saw the end of Dravid and Dada, and Sachin is only saved - no prizes for guessing why?

Birju please open ur eyes a player like dada who scores 50 or 75 runs once in 3 matches and drops catches and misfielding is common practise in every match then he is of no use
And also after so much of exp in International Cricket dada still does not knows how to ground bat in crease

Next World Cup team preparation just at the same year of completion of one World Cup???? No top team in the world requires 4 years for WC preparation and apart from WC other matches in the 4 years between world cups hold no consequence???? How funny!!! So a Player who can deliver for 2 years will not be considered since he will not play for next 4 years - doesnt that sound ridiculous - ofcourse if your are not a fanatic! And also interested to learn then how abt Sachin, is he also slated for 2011 WC by the selectors - well then any thing is possible here to apart from PGA tours!

ur dada is not better than rohit sharma. the main reason behind this is ganguly plays forn his own but rohit plays for country. within a short span of time rohit has played important role in india's series triumps including 20-20 & Cb series in australia. rohit has dominated murali & brett lee in australia. On the other hand, ganguly hasnt dominated murali or lee even in his dreams .

Manchanda sahab before opening your mouth just think a bit what are you speaking about whom? Rohit Sharma is just a talented rookie now nothing more, do you remember one Praveen Amre (who scored a century in his debut that too at South Africa), Sanjay Manjerekar (Couple of double centuries out of which one against Pakistan in Pakistan in front of Imran, Waquar, Wasim), Vinod Kambli (even argued to be better than Sachin), Amol Mazumdar (Always a great talent which never blossomed)the list is endless - how much did they all achieve in the long run??????? On the other hand you are denouncing a cricketer who is nothing short of a legend in Indian cricket served and still serving in full flow, one of the highest Test run scorer in the world in last two years, with about 18000 international runs under his belt! Do you need any forum to be declared either a FOOL or a MORON - please reflect!

I dunno how close you are to the dressing room, but myself as a normal cricket spectetor only find Ganguly getting tougher deals from the board or the selectors compared to the peers of his own stature. He doesnot seem to have any power or say in the Team management more than even Rohit Sharma, so how could he play dirty politics and who will support him and against whom - kindly explain.

To go with Chappel or Ganguly is a matter of your personal taste or choice! If you ask me Chappel himself was a power monger he wanted complete and undue dominance and a foot licking cat as a captain of Indian team (which ofcouse Ganguly was not), in the name of development he fcked up Indian cricket and that too dry! He quickly learnt about the Board equations and was lucky to see end of Dlamia era and knew Ganguly was from which lobby, it was not difficult for him set thing in his favour by moving the right instrumenmts in the right time and ofcourse he was helped by Ganguly's poor run with the bat. Or else I cannot remember when was a captain sacked from his post after winning an overseas series and scoring a ton himself too!

First of all Gangully Series win and century was against Zimbawe which is even weaker then local UP or Bihar Team that any Tom , Dick or harry can make century..
