I'm glad they selected Gambhir in place of Jaffer. Yuvi had to go too. I don't think stand-in WK (Parthiv) was needed for a 3-test tour, that too in a neighboring country! Anyway, this is a good team.

yes. good that gambhir got well deserved call and that also in place of useless jaffer. it is better in fact, to keep parthiv as first choice who can also open the innings.
We Indians want that we must win this test series against Srilanka particularly Ajantha mendis bowling attack. In this series Dada will definitely fire. I think he will put another Double century in this year. But finally future will tell. Dada the Great.

Its not about centuries or duck, its about how many innings he will play to help India win...
Don't simply guess who will play and who will retire in this forum. Why should Kumble retire after showing excellent performance in Australia. India will win the series in Sri Lanka. Kumble will continue. Those who like to see some players retire should retire themselves from this discussion board first.

You could be right, dear. With the God of Cricket on our side, defeat is a forgone conclusion. I can bet that Tendulkar will not retire after this or the next or the next....... series.
veeru & Gambhir will open and then dravid, sachin, ganguly, Laxman and keeper(either patel or dinesh), rest 4 bowlers will come for batting, then where is the point of testing new batsmen? If they take raina or rohit or Yuvraj.. there is no use. If they take amith in place of Zaheer(unfit guy) atleast we can test him. Rgds/Vattikonda

wt if ganguly sees a green pitch in kandy that helps the fast bowlers and all of a sudden gets ill at 8:45AM when the match starts at 9AM? like he did in nagpur 2 years back. Dont U need backup. :)
Main dekh raha hoon ki kuchh logon ki g**nd Dhoni se kuchh zyada hi jalti hai. Yeh sab upper caste ke logon ki feudal mentality ka natiza hai. Warna Dhoni itna kharaab khiladi nahin hai. Agar aap loag isee tarah react karte rahe, to kriket mein bhi reservation laane ki shuruaat jald hi ho jayegi.

Dhoni tujhe bhi money nehi dete or mujhe bhi. To bura ko bura bolne se taklib kya hai. Dhoni indian team ko unka baap ka property samajhte hain. o ja chahate hai ohi korte hain, aur natija sab lok dekh rahe hain. I am sure when he can not play well that day you too will be against him.
