Yup Milind:
Absolutely agree that you are very very very hurt.. :-)
With the richest board, highest paid players etc. etc. we should have been No. 9, no? THEN maybe you would have been really pleased.!

So shameless Indian team is happy as if they have won the seris. Soon they will loose one day tri series. they must come back and play a tri series with Kenya and Zimbabwe and improve the ranking

Playing the tri-series in Australia and coming atleast second will help more in improving our ranking than white-washing a series against kenya or zimbabwe. Thats how the ranking system works.
We lost the series in Australia and still increased our points in test standings, whereas Aussies won the series and still lost 2 points. This proves that we fought well with the best, better than expected. Remember it was an away series too. Lets be proud of that.

Who is shameless man? Is it India or Australia? The second test match actually India should have won. Australia cheated India using umpires and others worst practices. Mind it.

Dear Sanjay Mohan it is very difficult to improve ranking by just beating teams like Kenya and Zimbabwe which are at the bottom of the rank table. Don't u know?

To your knowledge, the rankings can only be improved if India plays against storng teams like Aus, SA, by beating Kenya, Zimbabwe the rankings will not improve....I hope You must have read this article properly...SA lost their second spot despite of serive victory on West Indies...

THIS GUY Sanjay Mohan is simply provoking. He says "They didnt deserve to win in perth". Even the Aussie captain admits that Indians were superior in that game. In Adelaid we could not force a win because it was a flat track. I think the best result should have been 2-2. We are as good as the Aussies if not better, and this is no day dreaming.

hey Sanjay... a j..k, someone like u did mention before the test series that India will lose 4-0 to Australia...
2nd Test was almost a draw and this series should have been a drawn series.
U can never predict on Men in Blue.... Lets wish them good luck for the T20 match and the Tri-Series.

Yup Mohan:
Your heart is in poor shape that the result was not 4-0 whitewash (all results being innings defeats to India..)
That's what you very much wanted. And that's what you are disaspointed not to see.
So all you see is a congratulations for "loosing" the test series (why? was it too "tight" so they "loosened" it?).. :-)

Indians deserve this.
by ajay bhathire on Jan 28, 2008 02:43 PM  | Hide replies

Past 6 or 7 years in tests Aus and Ind have played 4 series. In that the Aussies have not been able to completely dominate the Indians like they dominated the other test playing nations. Thanks to the senior Indian players like Dravid,Sachin,Ganguly,Laxman,Kumble and also young Harbhajan. This series also added due to good performances of fast bowlers such as RP Singh,Pathan,Ishant. I had already guessed that this series might be a draw or win by Aussies, but I definitely thought that Indians will give them a fight. Thats what happened. Other test playing teams have come to Aus and have lost here tamely. But Indians have given them a fight. Overall it is a good performance. Any team at their home is always difficult to beat.

I agree with you ajay, Eventhough India lost the series, the team made a point that they are the only one who can challenge the might of Oz on their soil and in the process won hearts of Aussy people too.

When Tennis could be such a huge sport with only a few handful countries and individuals playing the game, cricket at least is played by 22 people in one match for so many days engaging millions with its entertainment value why not should we credit it with mass game

kUDOS INDIA
by hoskote anand on Jan 28, 2008 02:40 PM  | Hide replies

It was a sterling performance by Indians. Alomst all performed vey well-young and not-so-young alike.Only Jaffer and Yuvraj failed to capitalise on the opportunities they got - despite tremendous talent in them.Kumble's captaincy will be remembered for long long time for both on and off field conduct.
We showed that we are the only nation who can tame Australians and even march HEAD of them.
Well Aussies get ready for the next round of battle when the young Indian cubs arrive for the ODI battle.
Well done India(despite dubious win by Aussies in II test) and all the best for ODIs.

Yes I agree with u Anand. Who knows this may set a trend to defeat Australia just d way india did by playing positively and agressivly. It was total team efforts. anyway ideal scoreline should have been 2-2 or 1-1
