FRIEND. THOSE WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND CRICKET CAN ONLY CRITISIZE SACHIN. JOKERS ON THIS FORUM ONLY FAVOURS YUVI AND DHONI WHO HAS BEEN HYPED BY MEDIA. IDIOTS ON THIS FORUM CRITISIZE DRAVID, DADA AND SACHIN AND AT THE SAME TIME THEY WANT TO SEE THEM IN ONE DAY TEAM. ON THE ONE HAND SACHIN IS COSIDERED THE BEST BATSMAN AFTER BRADMAN. AND OTHER EVEN THINK THAT HE DOES NOT DESERVE A PLACE IN THE TEAM. CHECK HIS RECORD LAST FEW SERIES. AGAINS PAK IN ONE DAY, AGAINS AUSSIED IN ONEDAYERS, AGAINS ENGLAND IN ONEDAYERS, AGAINS AUSSIE IN THIS TEST SERIES ONLY SACHIN SAVED THE INDIAN TEAM.
IT IS UTMOST SHAME THAT EVEN AFTER HAVING PLAYERS LIKE SACHIN INDIA COULD NOT WIN MORE MATCHES. AND FANS HERE ARE SO GREAT. TRUE UNDERSTANDING OF THE GAME THEY HAVE

critics r self-tauted oracles..... they know it all how to deciet...
wen sachin fails......ask for his head wen he scores.......say india didnt win if he is out in 90......say he cant convert a 50 into 100 if bowlers cant defend 300 in odi....say he shud hav played faster,we would hv got 400 if u find nothing....say he plays for money
AFTER COMING ON THE SEEN GILLY CHANGED THE STANDARDS FOR WICKETKEEPER. AFTER HIS APPERANCE EVERY COUNTRY WANTED A WICKETKEEPER BATSMAN. HE WAS THE BEST WICKETKEEPER BATSMAN WORDL HAS SEEN. AFTER HIS RETIREMENT STANDARDS WILL LOWER FOR WICKETKEEPERS. I DOUBT ANYBODY WILL COME CLOSE TO THIS LEGEND. CRICKETS LIKE SHANE WARNE AND GILLY COMES ONCE IN LIFETIME.
RE:standards will lower
by Vikas D on Jan 26, 2008 10:48 PM
Adam Gilchrist will figure in the All time World XI. This can be said about only two other people - Sir Don Bradman and Sir Gary Sobers.
RE:standards will lower
by Ritwik Bhuyan on Jan 26, 2008 11:01 PM
Yes, Bradman and Sobers will for sure feature in any All time XI team. But I'm equally sure Tendulkar will feature as well. Almost all the All Time IX tems chosen by the greats contain Tendulkar's name in it.
RE:standards will lower
by Ritwik Bhuyan on Jan 26, 2008 11:15 PM
By best time XI ? Well I can't really do that because I started watching cricket since about 1996. There have been many great players before that like Graeme Pollock, Martyn Crowe, Viv Richards, etc whem I've never even watched. I can only pick players whom I've watched.

Gilly is a legend who cannot be replaced. He thrives under pressure and reserves his best for big matches.

without him in 2007 WORLD CUP FINAL, Australia would have lost to Srilanka
RE:A.GIL - THE TRUE LEGEND MASTER BLASTER
by Abhishek on Jan 26, 2008 10:39 PM
how can you say that? they do have others who perform u know.. their not like india.. if sachin gets out quick everyone else follows..
RE:A.GIL - THE TRUE LEGEND MASTER BLASTER
by impt on Jan 26, 2008 10:42 PM
Get over it dude & stop living in fantasy world, Indian cricket isnt dependent on Sachin anymore
RE:A.GIL - THE TRUE LEGEND MASTER BLASTER
by Gaurav Gaddhyan on Jan 26, 2008 10:52 PM
Really... lets check out history ---
1992 World cup --> Sachin's 1st... playing in middle order.. had a decent world cup helping India to win couple of matches
1996 World Cup --> Sachin helps India reach Semifinal with few breath taking knocks... in semifinal... India looking comfortable till Sachin is there... as soon as he gets out... whole batting line up crumbles
1999 World Cup --> Sachin having mixed World Cup... result... poor performance by India
2003 World Cup --> Sachin highest scorer... almost single handedly turned morale and form of team after disastrous loss to Australia... in final.. bowler concedes too many
2007 World Cup --> Sachin's worst... not able to perform well... result... India not even reaching second stage...
still think Indian cricket isn't dependent on Sachin anymore
RE:A.GIL - THE TRUE LEGEND MASTER BLASTER
by extreme on Jan 26, 2008 10:47 PM
ur in fantasy man.. it is still dependent on sachin sachin has scored over 500 runs.. but just think what would be the situation.. if he hasnt scored it.. its alsmot one inning of indian team....
RE:A.GIL - THE TRUE LEGEND MASTER BLASTER
by SAJIL on Jan 26, 2008 10:46 PM
Original master blaster is Sir Viv Richards. I would rate Gilchrist next to Viv.
RE:A.GIL - THE TRUE LEGEND MASTER BLASTER
by Ritwik Bhuyan on Jan 26, 2008 11:18 PM
Yea, original master blaster was certainly Viv Richards, no doubt about it. But let's be fair in terms of batting, Viv is leagues apart from Gilchrist. Viv was incredibly consistent in ODI's with an unbelievable average of 47 with a splendid strike rate of 90.
After reading all the articles about Sachin vs Hayden.. it's truly sad that he isn't respected in his own country..u know i have no doubt that if Hayden were carrying the expectations of over a billion plus most of whom are idiotic fanatics who cannot rationalize the basics of anything.. then no way would he have ever scored 30centuries.. The same people who abuse Sachin on a daily basis are the same who applaud the loudest at a stadium when he scores a 100... Also a small fact.. Hayden has never had as tiring a schedule as Tendulkar has had.. and in my opinion i firmly believe Sachin is mentally stronger than Hayden.. considering that he's survived this long in a country like India he's got to be..
RE:sad
by impt on Jan 26, 2008 10:10 PM
Hey dude, Sachin is not doing any social service he is minting money as a professional, so he is expected to perform, so please stop your sob story about expectations & such crap, even Hayden has more pressure to perform, the ACB isnt the BCCI

by Srini on Jan 26, 2008 10:17 PM
Please tell ur Sachin Sir to win matches... He just makes century and money nothing else.. See his Stat and then comment..
RE:sad
by Abhishek on Jan 26, 2008 10:21 PM
it takes an entire team to win a match not just one person.. how is he supposed to win matches if no body other than him can score more than 50runs or pick up wickets.. u ignorant.. funny thing is even if he scores he's criticized even if he doesn't he's criticized..
RE:sad
by Gaurav Gaddhyan on Jan 26, 2008 10:26 PM
Not only one man can win you matches... you dumb fool... you need good bowling attack and a consistent batting lineup... how many times have you stopped watching cricket when Sachin gets out, because once he gets out... most of us believe that India cannot win... This itself is testament to importance of Sachin in the team...
His job is to score century... that he does... if those century doesn't win matches... it simply means there is something wrong in team and not in Sachin
RE:sad
by impt on Jan 26, 2008 10:33 PM
Its precisely because of dim-witted supporters like you that Sachin has been overhyped to super-human status. I bet if Sachin had scored that 281 instead of Laxman, u folks would have asked for his temple to be constructed!!!
RE:RE:sad
by Abhishek on Jan 26, 2008 10:47 PM
i am truly suprised of IMPT's hatred towards sachin.. u know i agree that most of the time sachin scores a hundred india have lose.. but how is it his fault? he seems to score a 100 only when other's seem to faulter.. and isn't that how great batsmen are supposed to perform? one can only blame his luck for others performing at the same time as him..
RE:sad
by Abhishek on Jan 26, 2008 10:36 PM
are you sure sachin has been over-hyped or perhaps it's just that we aren't able to produce any other quality batsmen that we have no one else other than sachin to talk about????
what about your yuvi? hit six sixers and then vanished.. amazing.. dhoni anyone? no thannks.. how about a dravid or maybe sourav..maybe, maybe not.. so we settle for sachin
RE:sad
by Abhishek on Jan 26, 2008 10:44 PM
to gaurav.. how is it silly? common u can't expect me to know all the facts.. ok.. yuvi.. after T20.. player well against pak and then dissapeared.. dhoni has been in a slump ever since ODI's against pak.. dravid 4get about it.. terrible form in the past year.. ganguly .. he seems to be getting back to himself.. but lacks fitness..
RE:RE:sad
by impt on Jan 26, 2008 10:53 PM
Abhishek, I have no hatred towards anyone, just that folks get so worked up on Sachin as if he has descended from heaven & go gaga over him, even his ordinary performances are made to look sterling!

no dude... remember one point of debating... present your case with facts... and not with silly arguments like above
and yes, as per you... you and only few other (so called sachin haters) are intelligent and rest are dim-witted... quite a claim for oneself to take
RE:sad

Gaurav, see this which I posted earlier, facts for debate....okay...now thanks
RE:To Srini by impt on Jan 26, 2008 08:30 PM Sachin Tendulkar:Career average of 55.77 whihc jumps to 64.41 in matches India won. He holds the record for the maximum centuries scored in Tests, 39, and 35.13 per cent of these (13) have been in matches India won.
Rahul Dravid:His career average (the highest for any Indian batsman) of 56.50 soars to 74.54 in matches that India won, the largest such difference in averages. Out of 114 games, Dravid has been on the winning side 36 times with a winning percentage of 32.14. This is marginally more than Sachin, but more nonetheless. Also, 41.67 per cent of his 24 centuries have won matches for India %u2013 substantially higher than Sachin's 31.42 per cent.
Now, Sid, just stop posting such rare occurrences of Sachin's innings saving India, that does not merit greatness.

ur rite.. and he does perform.. what i am emphasizing on is the fact that he isn't respected... and if my facts serve me rite.. he has played wonderful cricket in the past year. ..
