If a monkey is called Symonds will it be racial abuse. If no, in that case can we call Symonds a Symonds?

Indians are such superemotional beings.

Guys try to be a little bit cool. If you feel so strongly against what is going on just stop following cricket. Dont support it. Neither the players deserve our support, nor BCCI. help cricket die in India. With all the money cricket is making BCCI is not spending it for getting and developing new talent. They are just wasting the money on IPL just to thwart ICL. The very sight of that ugly Pawar is disgusting. I you guys had some spine like you want the players and BCCI to have ignore and boycott cricket. If you cant do that just shut up and accept what is going on.

i guess india is showing a message to the cricketing world or anyone following this fiasco that at the end of the day cricket and sportsmanship is the winner. sometimes actions speak more than words and the way anil kumble and the indian cricket team has carried themselves is fantastic. let cricket do the talking and even if they dont managage to win the series they will prove that they didnt stand down. imzaman forfeit a test what he got? only a backlash. anil kumble is doing the right thing by letting the world judge who is right and who is wrong.

speak for yourself not for others. if your so sick then why you even watching cricket or making it an issue. why cant you look at this in a positive way. you should support your own country and team. instead of that your being fickle. they earn money coz you watch them. stop watching them if your so agitated

u say let sportsmanship b the winner. if that was the case, in the first instance, kumble n co shudnt hv raised the issue of abuse against hogg.
now after alleging hogg, if they try to backtrack, they r not doing any sportsmanship, but cowardice n showing double speak.
either u r sportsman or not.
but if u say that till sydney test, u were but suddenly for eccentric purpose, u lost it for a week or so, now u again bcome sportsman, then its ridiculous.
kumble doesnt deserve any sympathy, bcoz he used emotions of millions of indians back home n rode on it so as to divert attention of irate fans against the 2 defeats agaisnt aussis.

I had read somewhere "Whoever said that it is not wining or losing that matters, probably lost". We all Indians are harping on the fact that match was not played in the right spirit of the game. To hell with it. If we had won no one would have cared about it and we would have been glorifying and worshipping our "Demi-Gods" of Indian Cricket team. Since when had ANYONE expected or felt that Aussies play with Sportsman spirit or that all the umpires do impeccable justice. All this matter only while searching for scapegoats for a game not played well. The real issue is that in sports we are pathetic when it come to a team play. As individuals we have some phenomenally bright player but only God knows what happens to this battalion when it goes on the field together. All said and done, had India won, all accounts would have been squared off.
What is needed is that India players should be more tough mentally and concentrate more on games than on endorsements and heights of their celebrity status cause when they play it is not just their career but also the prestige of nation at stake. And I feel that this is applicable in other fields too.
We Indians also need to admit the fact that we need considerable improvement in sports, be it Cricket or Hockey. But%u2026 Hamara number aayega.

WEll said vaibhav. I agree with 95% of what you wrote. only thing is inS ydney match Umpiring was atrocious and to add to that Ponting and Symond set a trap for Bhajji. But still Indian players should have fought everything and that is what champions do. That is what differeciates a champ from lesser beings. They should have been mentally tough.

New ICC rules
by Joseph Ipe on Jan 14, 2008 10:46 PM  | Hide replies

To clarify any doubts visiting teams to Australia might have about the rules
and the spirit of the game :)

Notice to All Cricketing Nations visiting Australia. Teams MUST adhere
to following new mandatory ICC code.

1. Winning Rule
NO VISITING TEAM should plan to win in AUSTRALIA. This is to ensure that
the sportive spirit of cricket is maintained.

2. Fourth Umpire Rule
Ricky Ponting should be considered as the FOURTH UMPIRE. As per the new
ICC rules, FOURTH UMPIRE 's decision is final and will over ride any
decisions taken by any other umpires. ON-FIELD umpires can seek
assistance from RICKY PONTING even if he is not on the field. Every
visiting team should understand the importance of FOURTH UMPIRE .

3. Amendment to Catching Rule
While Australian Team is bowling, If the ball flies anywhere close to
the Australian Fielder (within 5m distance), the batsman is to be
considered OUT irrelevant of whether the catch was taken cleanly or
grounded. Any decision for further clarification should be referred to
FOURTH UMPIRE (specified above). This is to ensure that the cricket is
played with SPORTIVE SPIRIT by all the teams.

4. Integrity Rule
While batting, Australian players will wait for the ON-FIELD UMPIRE
decisions only (even if the catch goes to the FIFTH SLIP as the ball
might not have touched the bat). Each Australian batsman has to be out
FOUR times
(min) before he can return to the pavilion. In case of THE CRICKETER
WITH INTEGRITY,

Did BCCI lose in table talk?....time will tell
by Sharad Saxena on Jan 14, 2008 10:46 PM  | Hide replies

Ultimately BCCI and Indian team mgmt FORGIVEN Brad Hogg and taken back all the charges against him which could be very effectively used against Cricket australia nad ICC , in the WIDE INTEREST OF CRICKET....looks great

BUT ....what logic BCCI will give if ICC gives decision that Harbhajan is guilty and punish him??? I hope BCCI might have considered the cheating nature of australians and racial history of ICC...

Must post your views friends

I think Harbhajan should ask Proctor's permission whether he call call a monkey as "Symonds" & next when he meets Symonds he should call him "Symonds".
