What ties???
by JM on Jan 08, 2008 07:27 AM

The only "ties" that will be affected is Aus team's income from India.

Boycott BretLee's hindi movie, boycott every product endorsed by every Aussie cricketer.

Lets show that Indians can bully-back too!

News - Umpire Bucknor no more..
by Sudipto Ghosh on Jan 08, 2008 04:00 AM  | Hide replies

There are reports that umpire Bucknor was run over by a road-roller. Police reports say that Mr.Bucknor was on his daily morning walk when a road-roller coming at 10 Kmph hit him from the front. It seems that Mr.Bucknor due to his poor eyesight and hearing did not see the vehicle approaching!!
Reliable ICC and Aussie cricket board sources have said that Mr.Bucknor's body would be mummified and preserved on a stand and be used for officiating all subsequent matches involving Australia. When asked about how he would actually manage to signal his decision, it was said that Ricky Ponting has kindly agreed to do it for him as Ricky has had enough practice doing so in the Sydney test.
Further news as and when it comes.

It doesn't matter anymore what Ponting says...
by Sudipto Ghosh on Jan 08, 2008 02:48 AM  | Hide replies

It really doesn't matter what Ponting, his team-mates, BCCI or ICC say. Everyone including the Australian cricket fans know how Australia won the match.
Australia may have won the test but all the dishonesty and controversies have damaged the image of Australian cricket forever. They have only managed to tarnish their own reputation and Ponting would go down in cricketing history as one the INFAMOUS captains and cricketers like Douglas Jardine and Hansie Cronje had been for various reasons.
Maybe it was a defensive mechanism of the team to improve their own image and shift the attention of people, that they brought up the racism issue.
What ever it is, the cricketing world has realised that India had the the upper hand and would possibly have defeated the Aussies and most importantly the Aussie team has lost most of the respect they had worked hard to earn in the past.

I always had huge respect for Aussie players, but no more. The entire team has been tainted forever. It is always difficult to beat Aussies even if all the players in the opponent are in great form because Aussies have a big team of 15 players(11 2 on field umpires 3 rd umpire match referee). Aussies should honour the umpires for making them world champions for a long time. A shameless word cheaters.

Why are you people against the Aussies. I feel that they have done nothing wrong. If anything the whole blame should be on the umpires.

Congratulation Bhavik Shankar. You are the exclusive 1% of the people who follow cricket around the world who think so!

Regardless, calling someone a racist is a serious accusation. Aussies did that, not the umpires.

Read some Aussie newspapers, British newspapers, Pakistani newspapers, read articles by different cricket-experts around the world, you may then understand.

Why care about ties if they don't?
by Aruna Kumar on Jan 08, 2008 02:27 AM  | Hide replies

India needs to campaign effectively for its players! Who cares about ties with the aussies if they aren't so particular about it? The BCCI is answerable to the country not to the aussies!

Aussies will be answerable to crowd when they play in India. Crowd is not controlled by BCCI.

Start new competitive ICC headed by India/Asia/etc. Lot of nations will join for sure. IF INDIA BACKS OUT TO MAKE IT'S OWN VERSION OF ICC, WE WILL BE THE WINNER.
If we comply, they will nail us some other day.

racism, cultur and australia.....
by badeguruji on Jan 08, 2008 02:23 AM

1. Austrailia is the racist no.1 country in the world. they are the one with 'whites only' policy.

2. Ricky ponting is peeing in his pants, if India comes back, he and his country will loose much more then what he has stolen. Therefore he saying whatnot...

3. the sledging culture in which australians are born and bought up, translates to: abusive language and cheap behavior, adding to it: (common to all whites) lies, deceit, crocodile's tear make them really filthy and repulsive. how many men does an average white women sleeps with before she has a family?

4. it is time, australia should be kicked out of the circketing world. the only sport by which they are known outside i guess he he... :-P
