I think the aussies will be happy not to see sehwag in the line-up.He is an impact player who is a real match winner on his day.I remember in last tour to Aus, he hit 195 by tea time.

Hello BCCI..

whats the use in earning billions and billions of money and not producing a world class team.think smartly and dont make cricket as like ur other political party.

We never have any backup player for the past 50 years or so.but we dont have even a single day without cricket. Why dont u concentrate lot on those aspects.
1.please send players such as chopra, parthiv patel, and all other players who are in contention for indian team to play in Australian domestic and South African domesticn matches regulary. Please never send send to English country. It is useless to play there. They will loose their cricket if they play in english county.
2.Place rotate players.NOt based on age or anything. But based on no of games to be played.
3.Mr.pawar,u r already too busy with ur ministry.Whats up u can do to cricket.why u want to take all cursings from cricket lovers.please leave cricket to cricketers..plzzzzzzzzzzz

-cricket lover.(who loves indian team )

Why persist with Dravid & Jaffer
by HariOm Chawla on Jan 01, 2008 08:48 PM  | Hide replies

When one set of openers has failed in both innings of the first test, why is team management bent upon persisting with the same? I have never seen such lack of flexibility in Indian cricket. Presently, there is something basically wrong with our team management including the captain who had boasted before the first test he was first a bowler and then a captain. Rightly said. He is successful as a bowler, but he has yet to deliver anything worthwhile as a captain on the foreign soil.

U can't drop jaffer for one failure.. he is the 2nd most run getter after sourav ganguly in 2007.. i agree dravid has failed for the last 6 months.

what more can u expect from a captain. If players dont play to their potential.Atleast 2 of 7 fails he can manage some how his resouces. But all 7 fails,he can do nothing other than watch like us.

But the captain should be bold enough to take some critical decisions when it comes to performance. If they want to play with the same side irrespective of their performance, then why did they select 14 or 16 players for the tour. There should be enough competition and some bold decision making that will make players to atleast give their 100 %

dont blame captain alone. If he is not provided with potential backup.Who can replace dravid or sourav.None.So this is the best 11 and may not be the winning 11.so may be the margin of defeat can be changed but nothing more can be expected more with indian team potential..

I m not trying to blame kumble but the team management as a whole.Anybody can replace anyone who is struggling with form temporarily.Dravid is such a great batsman that he can regain his from preddy quickly. That doesn't mean that we have to play him in every match.Give a chance to others.Y do we get hurt if some one is dropped.Whatever we do is nothing personal against anyone and there is nothing wrong to be dropped till he gets his touch.Come on man, think ahead.Same is the case with anyone.Atleast if we dare not to drop anyone,we should try to change their mindset. After scoring nearly 10,000 runs y should u bat soooo defensively which cannot give a chance to win against a team like aussies !!!!

mr. pavan, why cant u think beyound any particular player?? We have to field 5 genuine bowlers to get the strong aussiess out twice.. and again as pathan is scoring runs recently, we have the depth in the order as well..

I agree. But Luxman should be included in place of Pathan. Why need five bowlers. The change bowlers - Sachin, Ganguly, Sehwag - should be put to effective use.

Hi james
Do u really prefer jaffer and dravid over laxman. If we have to accomodate 5 bowlers take out a batsman who is out of touch or a new comer to australia....but not a better performer against aussies.

Manju Bhargava
openers
by Manju Bhargava on Jan 01, 2008 08:38 PM

I believe Sachin and Shewag should open. They should play shots and never allow bowlers to settle. Let them play like one day, atleast some runs could be scored for opening stand. Jaffar is failure.

Yuvraj has lot of head weight, he thinks he is great. Rest him.

Rahul should be No 3 followed by sourav, kaarthik, dhoni etc.

Sreesanth should be included. He has been shielded now faking injury.
