I think India should have performed much better in this tournament. Sachin has been in great touch but he never contributes while chasing. I don't know why Sehwag didn't play, is he still unfit or what? Uthappa, Rohit and Gambhir need to be more consistent. I think with Raina and Tiwari on the bench, Uthappa is very lucky to be in the playing eleven. Pravin doesn't look like he has any extra ordinary skill to be in the national team. Munaf Patel, although he didn't bowl that bad, but he should not be part of any ODI team.
RE:India's performance in CB Series

The team has exceeded the expectations. Look at the stats of the last two tri-series in Austalia involving India. 1999-2000: Lost 7 out of 8 matches against Aus & Pak 2003-2004: Lost 5 out of 6 matches against Aus. Qualified for the finals by the virtue of the third team being Zimbabwe.
Don't forget that India recent lost the ODI series to England and Australia. So it's not a bad performance in comparison.
Y diff yard sticks its been ages he has played for the country...when dada or dravid can be dropped form ODI for not getting runs y not sachin...today was a crucial match he showed what he is agaoin...everyone was shouting at yuvi till mrng but he showed the way to final...more that that the way he played aggressive ...it kicked sachin buttttttttttttt...we need ppl who can win matches for country then getting more money

How Much you can pay 80 Hundreds 30,000 runs wolds most senior & Highest man of the match and man of the series awards reciever. he is one of the worlds richest player.
Turning point from Munaf patel ...... he destroyed the openers and backfoot srilanka for first 15 overs... if jayasurya get a chance he will cract atleat 30 in a5 balls... so munaf is real player...

Turning Point Not this My Friend. Turning Point that when youraj come on his fom
it seems nowadays saying something against sachin is politically incorrect. No commentator/analyst ever utters a word against him in public. whenever he is required to play under pressure specially while chasing , he never delivers. He might be a great batsman but always succumbs to pressure. i see no reason why he is part of current team when the logic is to give exposure to youngsters.

Absolutely,I agree to the point,There is a different yard stick for tendulkar when compared to others..Just because he is from Bombay and started palying at age 16 he is immune to criticsm,I had never heard gavaskar or shastri utter a word about his failure.Imagine if that ball was faced by VVS,they would have finished him off..
RE:DROP Tendulkar, not scoring runs & by getting out early he is putting tremedous pressure on team's head
by Prasad Duddu on Feb 19, 2008 07:19 PM
mumbai lobby will never do that...they lick sachin for everything.
India made an hard effort to lose today. Thanks to the prayers of the Indian Team supporters they were not successful. Batsmen are over confident because of India's over hyped batting prowess (absolute lack of it) and end up in a mess spoiling the hard toil of the young bowlers.
