Irfan Patha is MUST
by sbab on Sep 10, 2007 02:25 AM  | Hide replies

Our players are allways scared of their future
better they should start playing for the present to full, their are allways playing todays game to keep their place in the team safe for the next game.

How they fielding they cant even chase a ball well
just they run a bit and they loose interest when once they reached 15 meters to the fence

regarding players
WE dont need 7 batsmen
just we need 3 allrounders
like youvraj singh,pathan,ganguly

I dont think irfan pathan lost so much of his talent because of 5 to 10 games of poor show

then how can be agarkar and sreesanth in the team
allways this bowler gives 40 to 60 runs all the finals or decider matches.

talent players like pathan once in a while

dont forget what happen with pakistan after the retirement of GREAT wasim akram still pakistani are looking for a replacement for him, they will take anther 25 years to get a wasim akram

to india aswell their has been not a singel bowler in the team before who turns matches on india side

if you people have time compare average of irfan pathans with
kapil dev
prabhakar
prasad or srinath
no body can come near to him

your verdict, is wrong. The great Kapildev is the greatest allrounder that India has produced and among the best all time. He has scored more than 5000 Test runs and 400 Wickets along with his athletic fielding.
Certain time statistics won't prove right as to situation varies depending upon the opposition and the venue etc. Taking 5 wickets and 60 against Bangaladesh and Australia/WestIndies in their prime is certainly different.

I don't blame Irfan, he has got immense potential, I am sure he'll comeback as strong as he has been.

Hats off to Kapil Dev

Unfair selection under BCCI promotes ICL
by chakravarthi devakumar on Sep 10, 2007 02:25 AM  | Hide replies

Please bear with me. Even without Sachin, Sourav and Dravid, the scoreline would have read 3-4. Ultimately, Freddie made the difference. Had he be there in all seven matches it would have been 2-5. You need athleticism in fielding and five genuine bowlers. So it is better BCCI does not succumb to old guards who resisted performance-linked bonus and payment system. If cricket is administered by cricketers, this blackmail would not work to this level, I guess.Professionalism in adminsitration and for that matter every aspect of game is a must. Selection of Agarkar and Munaf did not help the cause. Rohit Sharma has been a tourist now everywhere but no fault of him as the oldies would not give him a chance by sitting out however tireed is thier body between matches.

my friend dont try to justify on india losing the series because of bad decisions. The truth is England overall played a better criket. Their fielding was excellent, batting, bowling, u name it they have it... what else u need from a team ...

Is it? How many bad decisions England got in the series?
For ur information Tendulkar alone got 3 bad decisions.
Yu don't have field, bat, bowl execellently if u have umpires helping u.
This is the worst umpiring I have seen comparable to 1991092 tour of Australia

Had the umpires were not against India. It would have been 4-3 or 5-2. How many bad decisions.

Team India

Well whatever be the team composition, we are gonna lose anyways. So why not "look good" doing it at the least?

1. Sachin (has to be there, else Pawar wont allow anyone else to play)
2. Yuvi (good bat good looks)
3. Salman (good looks good body)
4. John Abraham (long hair good looks = sure crowd puller)
5. Dhoni ( someone has to keep wickets...might as well be him)
6. Dravid ( just to make sure we lose)
7. Bips (she wont need a bat to score runs all balls will definitely come to her)
8. Agarkar ( by default, as Sachin is there)
9. Mallika (she knows right where the block - hole is)
10. Shilpa Shetty ( need an item number during the lunch break)
11. Emraan Hashmi (needs to keep Mallika lip-locked to prevent her from shooting off at the mouth between overs)

12th man - Abhishek (somehow I always thought he was best suited for the catering sort of job)

Coach - Guess who? Chak de Khan of course!!!

Stop whining
by Ajay Makhija on Sep 09, 2007 11:09 PM

India come off a long English summer with a 1-0 Test Series victory and a hard fought 3-4 one day series loss. The players played commendable cricket in the one day series, and fought back wonderfully from 1-3 to 3 all, so that the final rubber would not be dead. That it turned out to be very lukewarm is unfortunate, but the Indian team can hold their heads high and come back. We are going to win some and lose some, and what matters is that we don't lose like losers ( with no fighting spirit )...which we didnt at least in this series. So stop getting on the teams ass everytime they lose.

If SRT n SG dont post a opening, India loses every time.
by sudhir dhar on Sep 09, 2007 10:09 PM  | Hide replies

3 times in 7 matches, the openers post 100 plus partnerships, India wins.
4 times , they dont, India lose, lose BIG.

The entire batting line is choking.

Dravid must go as captain.A complete MISFIT.

Your Dada played a horrible inning in the final. Dravid and Tendulkar got out to poor umpiring decision. According ro cricinfo, Dada should have been out atleast half a dozen time in this match. Dravid is thousand times better than Ganguly and has much better record.

Sachin was not out but Dravid was out for sure and he admitted that later on.Intially he was trying to save his face. Even he were not out he would not have stayed longer than that.He is a waste.

I am sorry, but the live coverage and the post game inetrview that I saw, Dravid never admitted he was out. To Dravid's credit, the commantators were even questioning Sneko, because Dravid is a walker-Honest enough to walk on his own. And he didn't walk..

Dravid never admitted that he was out. You would like to believe that Dravid was out because that gives you peace of mind and probably good night sleep :-) FYI, even Shastri thinks that decision to bat in the final was a good decision and people did not get out because of bad batting conditions.

Most of your arguments are without any logic. You forget Dravid's contributions in 2nd ODI, which India wond by 9 runs. Dravid's contribution in that match was very crucial. Also, do not forget Dravid's contributions in the Future Cup final (against SA).

Dravid, you outplayed everyone being the worst captain.Who said you are a wall----a broken wall who can never be rebuilt. You have destroyed the team by playing the politics. You created problems for many players in the team to keep your captaincy such as Sachin, gangule, zahir, sewag, robin, yvraj, lakhsman, nehera, pathan. You are responsible for this loss.Hide your face in bush.

Anything more? India has given commendable performance under Dravid in this series.
First ever overseas ODI victory against SA in Future Cup--Remember Dravid played a major role in the finals. Test series victory over England came after 21 years. He played a major role in second ODI. We lost finals mainly due to bad umpiring. According to Shastri, batting first in finals was a good decision keeping in mind that we have two spinners in the side and anyway conditions were not bad for batting in finals. Ganguly played a horrible inning and he should been out at least half a dozen time in his inning of 15 runs.

India had won the test not because of Dravid...12 runs in 90 balls can never be the icon of a players well being to win a test. His captaincy was very timid and hilarious. He looked confused all the time. I can not comment about the outcome if India had chosen to field first. By the way why are you bringing gangule in this topic? He played brilliant knocks along with Sachin which were the turning point of many matches-they have 21century partnership and no one is close to that point even. I guess you are bringing gangule because he is one of the preferable candidates for the captaincy. Your horrible dravid has completely destroyed the team spirit. Due to sachin and gangule, the look of the team had changed. Dravid has zero contribution in the team. He can not inspire any player. All he wants is to stay as the captain. I have not seen many people making comments for Dravids staying in the team. He is such a shameless fellow; he did not even resign after Indias horrible performance in the world cup. Did that ever happen? You guys do not have anything to say for dravid. Shame on you. He is fit for nothing. How come you are supporting a guy who is a perfect embodiment of a series of failures? Who comes first to you? India or Dravid? If you love your country and want your team to progress then join in the removal of that traitor from the team-India for our betterment.

Why should Dravid resign because other ten players did not contribute. He was the only successful player in the important match against SL. Why did not others play well in that crucial match. One can always have a bad day. We lost because we had one bad day. However, everyone should have taken the SL match seriously. The fact is that only Dravid played well in that match. Dravid is the best player in the contemporary cricket. He is the most successful captain also.

What a shameless captain dravid is? he should resign. this I conclude when he gave final over to Yuvraj singh in 6th ODI.

He has not only changed as human being but also has a player. Now he is holding greed of captaincy. If he would have been the good human being then you would have been resigned after these many losses but he is not doing that. I used to be a great fan of Rahul Dravid but not he is the worst player.

Dravid is arguably better than Tendulkar. He played major role in most of the Indian victories abroad. Ganguly owes most of his success to Dravid. He was even selected as the Wisden Cricketer of the year in 2002.FYI, Dravid is going to remain captain for another 2 years and win matches for India. India needs Dravid to win more matches.
