Manoj Tiwari was selected for Bangladesh tour and after then he has not been selected.

Badrinath was selected in Aussi tour for last two matches and after that he has not been considered.

Now they have selected parween kumar and I am 100% sure, he won@t get a chance to play agnst pak, and in next tour, he will be dropped. I fail to understand what this vengy is trying to prove.

Now this Shashtri is telling that seniors have to be dropped. He has been always a detractors of saurav and dravid. Thee politician More and Chappel dropped saurav, he supported them and now he is supprting vengi too. We should ignore is shameless guy, who only played for money. This dark pig does not have any guts to say aganst tendulkar.

see, I am not agnst tendulkar, I am great fan of him, just I am talking with reference to shastri who is biased to Pawar and his group.

Anyway, good luck to dravid, strive hard in domestic cricket and come back to indian side like saurav. saurav fought with all odds and shown the world what he is !! I personally feel, dravid is paid back for his politics he played together with Chappel and More to remove ganguly. Anyway, humans make mistake and God forgives if he repents for it.

Ganguly is of no use. Couldnt u see his ducks in the series against Aus?? Also his 86 of 118 deliveries was of no use since he wasted too many deliveries which became problem for middle order batsmen. That's the problem with Ganguly. Also his non-cricketing shots, leatherball going on on side when he hits on off-sidem his running between the wickets and ground fielding adds to Indian team worries. I m sure Badrinath/Raina/Rohit Sharma could definitely bat better than him. Let Robin or Gambhir open with tendulkar. I sincerely feel Ganguly is playing for himself and not for country.

agree with most of what u wrote, except abt Ganguly. Ganguly was dropped for cricketing reasons. It was plain to see that. That break has done him a lot of good, he seems to be the best of the big 3 now.

True, ganguly was not in his best form when he was droped. However, Selectors (More), Chappel and Dravid treated him badly. Ganguly deserved respect always, but they humilated ganguly in public, thats the pathetic, friend !! Anyway, now ganguly is doing well, but he needs to improve his strike rate to remain in the team. Thats the message from colonel.

Ganguly is not doing well. Couldn't u see he scored ducks twice in series against Australia. Also those fluke 86 runs innings was useless as he took 118 balls to score them and India at last lost the match because of that. Gandguly needs to understand that he is not playing a test match when he plays ODI. His non-cricketing shots (ball going to on side when he hits on the off side) are clearly visible by every team and will be a big problem against Pakistan. I wish he gets injured before the series and doesnt come back in the team for 2-3 years.

I dont think so. Saurav is playing only for him and not for the team. Look at his statistics before dropping and after come back. Before dropping he scored at more than 85% to 90% strike rate(what ever he scores) in odis and mre than 50% in tests. But after his come back he has scored at a strike rate of 70% in odis and 35 to 40% in tests. This clearly shows his selfishness.

That Dravid played politics to get Ganguly out is wrong.Ganguly was out because of the Pawar take over from Dalmiya.Ganguly as a Dalmiya crony was taught a lesson by the Pawar gang and the blame was made to fall on Greg and to some extent on Dravid.Greg like an idiot fell into the trap, although one can say there were sound cricketing reasons for Ganguly to go and tighten up.The pity is Dravid is now the fall guy for both camps.Let us not forget Indian cricket administration is always one of promoting particular players.Dravid does not do this and hence they can be harsh on him.

Ganguly was waste when he was dropped. Definitely Raina and Mongia were better bets then. A look in cricinfo's ststsguru will reveal that.
In any case, you mean to say Dravid is dropped because of non-cricketing reasons? Exactly what many think...

If Dravid can score 50 runs in 10 matches, should he not be dropped...? this is definitely a performance issue....

Where as Chappel had personal Ego with Sourav.

Hence Ganguly was dropped for non-cricketing reasons and Dravid for cricketing reasons...

Dont decieve yourself and others--he has got back because of political support--did he do anything in domestic cricket? Dont talk of guts & resilience-and dont forget--he had to stab dalmiya to get back in the team.
Just go back to your commie politicians and keep quiet.

Dravid is trying to prove himself better than Saurov !!!
by gulla banerjee on Oct 30, 2007 12:00 AM  | Hide replies

Dravid is trying to prove himself better than Saurov, that's why he is playing Ranji test against Mumbai team.... well Saurov had came back to Team India after spirited and consistence fighting in Ranji Series round the year, which was enough for winning the hearts of many Indian fans .... It is to be seen what Dravid can do this time ....All the best to him?

I do not think that Dravid is better than anyone since he was the third most successful batsman in last ten ODI matches with an average of 37 runs with a strike rate of 97 in NatWest series. His bad run in recent series was the mismanagement by Dhoni and BCCI. It was clear that something was disturbing him and now we know that what that was! He need not go back to Ranji or anything to prove anything since he has not lost form. He is still the best number 3 player.

What were the sequence of runs Dravid scored in past 10 or 15 matches to have average of 37, Sanjeev? I remember there are two zeroes in the last 5 matches against Australia !!!

Sorry, I wanted to say that Dravid need not prove that he is better than anyone in first senetence. I do not think that he has lost form just on the bases of one series. It was very clear that Vengsarkar was looking for an excuse.

Rahul treated badly
by rahul malhotra on Oct 29, 2007 10:45 PM

I think the decision to drop Rahul might be ok, but the kind of comments made about him were really sad. Vengsarakar called him one-dimensional, whereas Rahul is such an example of how to keep improving ur game, and adapt to different siuations. Probably struggling now, so a break might do him good, but making such comments abt one of Indias greatest is shameful
