Manoj Tiwari was selected for Bangladesh tour and after then he has not been selected.

Badrinath was selected in Aussi tour for last two matches and after that he has not been considered.

Now they have selected parween kumar and I am 100% sure, he won@t get a chance to play agnst pak, and in next tour, he will be dropped. I fail to understand what this vengy is trying to prove.

Now this Shashtri is telling that seniors have to be dropped. He has been always a detractors of saurav and dravid. Thee politician More and Chappel dropped saurav, he supported them and now he is supprting vengi too. We should ignore is shameless guy, who only played for money. This dark does not have any guts to say aganst tendulkar.

see, I am not agnst tendulkar, I am great fan of him, just I am talking with reference to shastri who is biased to Pawar and his group.

Anyway, good luck to dravid, strive hard in domestic cricket and come back to indian side like saurav. saurav fought with all odds and shown the world what he is !! I personally feel, dravid is paid back for his politics he played together with Chappel and More to remove ganguly. Anyway, humans make mistake and God forgives if he repents for it.

Why are u blaming Ravi Shastri. He is not at all a part of selection committee. Moreover please understand that Shastri whatever had said in the past is absolutely correct. He was never against Saurav and Dravid. What he insisted that India will have to get ready a group of young cricketers alongwith the experience. The logic is pretty simple.

Quite right Pathan but I think Dravid has been a silent spectator to all these...More/Shashtri/Chappel were more involved..Now Vengy is doing the same and next day gangu would be dropped....Sachin will stay don't worry...Everybody shouting about 20-20 but one thing we need to realize that 20-20 is just 40% of ODI..One who is able to play longer version is a real good cricketer. It has been seen in last few matches that only when gangu & sachin gave India good starts we have won..Hence seniors are reqd..what we don't require is the useless selectors & powar..

see we won the t20 world cup because of magnificiant feelding , wonderfull running between the wickets and inturn it reflected in shots which went 4s and 6s. even you again take the tape of india, australia T20 match in india.
uthappa and gambhir took singles by hitting the ball directly to symonds hand in cover/midwicket , even in the dream no body take singles when symonds stand even in the edge of the inner circle...but take our big three , they will never take singles and twos and save runs....this is were the australians winning regularly....they are more power hitter than our team but still they convert no run into singles and singles into 2s...they know our fielders....we can't defend 250 runs because we will never make any runout and stop the singles....that's it....

Greatest achiever in the history of International cricket, such a selfless dedicated and invaluable person in Indian Team being dropped it is how we surrender ourselves to worst politics. vengasarkar must be thrown out of selection committe, he dont no how to respect a player like RAHUL DRAVID

Hey Dude. Compared to Ganguly, Dravid is not a team player. hmmm. Sounds strange. There is a saying memories are mighty short. And believe me your's is really really short. It was Dravid who accepted the responsibility of keeping wickets when the management wanted. It was Dravid who dropped himself down the order to help stroke players score more balls. and mind you Dravid never resigned from captaincy. He told the chairman not to consider him for the selection as a captain. The captaincy issue was due to reviewed after the world cup. Dravid was made the captain only till the World cup. As regards to throwing the third test. The coach, team management were all partners in this.

IF YOU ARE SAYING THAT DRAVID IS NOT A TEAM MAN THEN I THINK YOU BETTER DONT WATCH CRICKET. DRAVID HAS NEVER BEEN SELFISH . HE OPTED TO KEEP WICKETS IN ORDDER TO ACCOMODATE MOHD KAIF AS THE SEVENTH BATSMAN. HE COULD HAVE CONTINUED HIS CAPTAINCY AFTER THE ENGLISH TOUR WHERE INDIA WON THE TEST SERIES AFTER 21 YEARS. DURING HIS TENURE AS A CAPTAIN HE OPTED TO BAT AT NUMBER 5 INSTEAD OF 3 IN ONE DAYERS SO THAT YOUNGER PLAYERS LIKE YUVRAJ TO CARRY THE RESPONSIBILITY.ITS REALLY SAD SCENE THAT TODAY HE IS OUT OF THE TEAM.

Wake up
by manoj kumar on Oct 30, 2007 03:35 PM  | Hide replies

Remember who was captain of India the last time they toured Australia and nearly beat oz when Dravid/Laxman destroyed oz at Adelaide, when Ganguly saved you at the GABBA? The reason for their success was they had developed a team under a consistent leader "Ganguly" who with his aggressive and arrogant approach to the Australians nearly defeated the world champions in their back yard!Australia did not change captains like underwear as they do now giving the team they had under Ganguly time to mature and develop under his leadership! Why would any of you even consider Tendulkar whose record is 4 wins out of 25 test matches...just embarrassing!Any Australian captain would be sacked for this record and never captain any team again!Secondly they had a consistent coach in John Wright(best ever for India)who the team respected. Now they have no coach,no steady captain and it will be a disaster for India again unless they appoint Ganguly to attack Australia with aggression! Wake up India BCCI!!

Dravid Vs Ponting
by amit singh on Oct 30, 2007 03:33 PM  | Hide replies

I wrote a couple of months ago, after Ponting got two centuries in his 100th test about how similar the numbers for him, Dravid and Kallis were.
Specifically considering just Ponting and Dravid, since they're among my two favourite batsmen, Ponting has played 100 tests, 166 innings, 23 not outs, 8253 runs, a highest of 257 and a batting average of 57.71. Dravid has played 98 tests, 165 innings, 20 not outs, 8355 runs, a highest of 270 and a batting average of 57.62.
I just chanced to see Ponting's and Dravid's numbers in one-dayers and they were strikingly similar.
Ricky Ponting has played 248 one-dayers, 242 innings, been not out 29 times, scored 9020 runs with a highest score of 145, a batting average of 42.3 and a strike rate of 78.7
Rahul Dravid has played in 280 one-dayers, 259 innings, 34 not outs, 9048 runs with a highest score of 153, a batting average of 40.2 and a strike rate of 70.27.
To me, while Ponting is a far more destructive one-day player, Dravid is a more "complete" one. Dravid has, in the last 4-5 years, showed a wonderful ability to bat at just about any position and deliver the goods. Ponting, on the other hand, is essentially a #3. Nearly 90% of Ponting's one-day innings are at #3. Dravid, on the other hand, has batted extremely uccessfully at #3 (35% of his innings), #4 (33%) and #5 (22%). Ponting's stability at #3 is a result of him never facing a crisis about his place in the side. So he was able to establish himself for good at that position.
