Dhosa
Shoaib Akther the Chuckkeerrr
by Dhosa on Nov 30, 2007 10:35 PM

MUMBAI, November 29: Pakistan%u2019s express fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who is recovering from a chest infection, is all set to play in the second Test starting at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday. And, he might well see an old bogey rise in his face all over again: questions over his bowling action.

The Indian team, it is learned, is not happy with Akhtar%u2019s action and wants BCCI to take up the issue.

Doubts over the legality of his bowling hit the Indians during the first Test in Delhi, where Akhtar put up a spirited fight, even taking six wickets. The team was particularly upset with the delivery that broke through Rahul Dravid%u2019s defences and shattered his stumps. Dravid, who was looking solid until then, just couldn%u2019t believe his dismissal and walked away shaking his head. The Indian camp is quite convinced that the ball that clocked 150kmph and cut back sharply could not have been legal.

The team doesn%u2019t want to talk about it for obvious reasons. In fact, the players closed ranks and, when contacted, refused to discuss it. Sources, however, said it was debated within the team.

Pointless Test..
by YoBro on Nov 30, 2007 10:35 PM

dead pitches like these mar the joy of watching Test cricket. The Kotla pitch was perfect - a team could reach 300-400 but lost wickets at regular intervals if the pitch is good (unless ofcourse the batsmen are really good) - and the contest was about even.

It was sad to see Pak done in by poor health. Shohaib should've been in hospital - not playing.

Tehelka exposed

It would be interesting for you to know that Cheif editor of Tehelka named TaruN tejpal's recent trip to USA was sponsored by Eid Committee of New Jersey. Like a 3rd rate cheap journalist, he could only get the sponsorship of Muslims, and Saudi Arabia funding...

TeraBaap
so called experts and advisors
by TeraBaap on Nov 30, 2007 10:28 PM

One thing I am noticing that every Indian cricket follower has a itch to give advise. When team is not playing well then it becomes more acute. But I don't understand why people have to even talk about who should be a captain when things are going well. But may be it's a terminal desease. You can't help it but keep on giving advise - who should be captain, team composition and mostly they are all baised or instant reactions. Rather enjoy the current form the team has and leave the comments for current management and for rainy days.

Team India - Test Cricket - ODI - Twenty20 - Captains
by Vijay Kumar on Nov 30, 2007 09:51 PM  | Hide replies

I feel that Team India should have 3 captains separately for Test Cricket, ODI and Twenty20. In test Cricket, Jaffer should be groomed to succeed Kumble. Dhoni should captain ODI and Yuvaraj should captain Twney20. Thus each captain can focus on suitable strategies for the format best suited to them. The winner will be Team India in all the formats. There may be common players in two or all three formats, but it is bettter to have separate teams for each format. More and more cricket, more and more Indian dominance in world cricket and of course more and more money for BCCI.
