I mean, think about it. Akram could generate pace 'almost' as fast as Akhtar with a run-up as long as Amarnath's. And he could generate incredible bounce and swing even on wickets with no juice.

Agreed plants have life and may be it causes them some pain when we harvest (althouth this is yet to be proved).

Ignore this moron TJ ! TJ, first understand cricket then talk. Kaif was one of the main reasons we won the 2004 series in Pakistan and 2006 series in Pakistan. It was his fielding in critical times, which won us tight matches. Go do some homework on cricinfo, then come back and talk.

You are 100 % right ! We need people who can field out of this world, under pressure. This is going to be a very close series ! And we need people who can field under pressure. Thats Kaif ! Never have I ever seen him fumble in the field ! He is worth at least 25 in the field from the outset ! And remember the catch he took of Shoaib Malik in Karachi in 2004 when it looked like Pakistan would win the match. That was more difficult than the chance uthappa dropped today ! We need people who can field out of this world under extreme pressure. We need him back ! Big time !

Today, if we had Kaif in the field instead of Rohit Sharma, even as a substitute fielder, we would have won this match. He'd have taken the catch which Uthappa dropped, for sure ! I have never seen him drop a catch ! For a close series like this we need him back big time !

Even though he gives runs he is the only fast bowler we have ( Zaheer & party are medium fast) give sachin rest, he is greatet player, problem is when he in the team everything revolve around him and no one else perfoms, if he is not there everyone take charge and make diff. It is a difficult decision, but if you want to win, that is the solution.
