unlucky guy
by reader on May 23, 2007 07:50 AM  | Hide replies

When I heard the name of Manindar Singh, I think he was frustrated and unlucky guy, He had the talent and skills who entered as a great spinner at the age of only 17 and people predicted him to be one of the world's greatest spinners but as a surprise at the age of 24 he lost touch and forgot the bowling action too. After that the phase gone to him was like he never recovered and got frustrated and started taking druts. I think in India after Mr. Bsingh Bedi he is the only guy and he would have stayed for a long he would have been compared with Shane Warne or Murlitharan

move on..
by on May 23, 2007 07:22 AM  | Hide replies

I think this is not worth the discussion. Maninder gave a lot to this country and we need to see that he goes through rehab!! We all err and its great to comment with the negative sting!! As usual we want to attack the guy pinned down, not look at the process to correct things!! Back off guys, have we not made mistakes in life??

Why do I get the feeling that the first guy is a sardarji? Are you kidding me??? Pardon cocaine? Do you see that the US spends $40 billion a year to stop spread of cocaine..we will end up there. Throw his ass in Jail.

NADU
dont blame Nigerians for Maninder's bust...
by NADU on May 23, 2007 07:06 AM

First of all if Maninder Singh had any self respect, he should have shunned the drugs, Nigerian or not Nigerian.
Even George W Bush did not blame Mexicans for the drug trafficking.
He said that if no one in the USA was using drugs, the Southern neighbors would not be peddling it. Same applies for Maninder.
Hope he does not spin his way out of this crime.

Punish both of them to the fullest extent of the law.
Or else, if someone got away with murder and matchfixing, they can excuse and exonerate Maninder Singh and it will be business as usual.

Ex Cricketer Maninder Singh is sick
by Harish Bhatia on May 23, 2007 07:01 AM  | Hide replies

Watching him on TV channels was really sick. I never thought he was much sicker than he talked on TV blasting current cricketers during WC.

He should be sent to a rehabilitation center first and after he's counselled and cured there, he should be sent to some grooming institute for learning etiquette, manners and how to speak in public.

Uday, I really never hated Maninder as a person, or for that matter anyone. It is his outward behaviour that's always been challengable. Unfortunately, it's his own personality and interacting with the outside world which has brought him to this sad disposition.

But you are right. My message did sound a wee bit too close to hating Maninder - but that was not the intention.

Thanks

Harish Bhatia

How are these Nigerians residing with such impunity in India? I am certain many must be doing this illegaly. Our Govt as usual is lethargic and will end up exposing the country to the drug cartel. Initiate a drive to throw these fellows out. I can assure you that your vote bank will not be effected.

Cocaine vs terrorism

Big drama! Snorting cocaine is merely a harmless leisure activity. Does not eliminate other lives and limbs. Time to legalise cocaine, marijuana and other leisure drugs. Make Maninder the ambassador for this cause.

The probable reason behind his arrest might be his future as a commentrator... He tried earlier with International umpiring but there also failure. But question is Why only high profiles arrested for drug handling in Delhi only... May be other metros drug trafficker get blessing from local authorities....
