20-20 needs someone who can whack the ball the farthest with good hand to eye co-ordination. little else.
It is ample clear that India's senior players like tendulkar, draving & ganguly opted out 30 probables for twenty20 because they lacks consistency and confidence.

They don't lack consistency and confidence. These old heroes lack quickness and fitness required in 20-20 matches

Don't use these words for players like Sachin, Ganguli and Dravid, I hope that you must have said one day for Sachin, Ganguli and Dravid are greats, when they were in form and hitting ball in every square of the field. Sorry, pls don't use words like that...... and when Sachin and Ganguli have shown their talent again.

You are absolutely wrong. They are almost 33/34 years old now. The reflex has definitely gone down. It does not mean that they don\'t have consistency /confidence. It means that they are thinking for the nation\'s interest and not for themselves.

20-20 does not suit thier style. period. 20-20 is for cavemen who weild clubs and whack the ball the furthest without bouncing once inside the boundary line. little else.

We are talking about world cup.. 1st ever 20-20 ...how do you want India begin with FUTURE model of the game.. get beaten with Bangladesh.. or Holand...
You require experience in wc, its not street play.. KIDS like you may not understand..
for ppl like you, let sachin & saurav play joker, if they out perform , you get a better claim to prove your point...
This writer has shown his bais towards Ganguly, see the headline of this article (Dravid, Tendulakar opt out). Why not include Ganguly's name in headline?? Limited space?? than only write SENIORS opt out.

It seems that AGE is catching up with our Trimurti viz. Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly. They have taken a wise decision of opting out of 20-20 cricket and giving 3 young players the chance to Play for INDIA and contribute to its success.
It is bound to happen.Sachin,Dravid and Ganguly have to say good bye sooner than later. One can clearly see that how mediocre our team appear with above probables. This is the reality.We have no real fast bowler, no real spinner of the bowl and No allrounder and no Sachin.It will be a miracle if India reach among last 4 in 20's world cup in South Africa.
I know people will scream at me by putting hate comments ... We cant do anything except blaming everyone including sportsman including sania mirza , actors , politicians or systems forgeting that we have been educated through the same and earning handsomely !!!!
Question is how much of you have actually played cricket at least at club level withb red leather balls?
Or you will appreciate them when west does ? They have been pillars of Indian cricket for last 10 years..
We have not saluted Gavaskars , Kapils , at least this time show some respect man!!

If all players opt out of 20-20 for the fear of getting thrashed, then we will have to send LADIES Team to win the 20-20 Gents World Cup
this is really a brave decision by the selectors. but again sometimes a question arise that all our decisions made always by politically not by technically. thanks, srijit chatterjee, kolkata

Can you explain the meaning of Political and Technical Decision in this case of laeving out Dravid, Tendulkar and Ganguly.
