What a team it was during Sardesai's time . I was in school when the Indian team toured West Indies and I remember every member of that team :Contractor,Jaisimha,Manjrekar,Sardesai, Umrigar,Borde,Durani,Surti,Nadkarni,Engineer, Ramakant Desai,Budhi Kunderan,Prasanna, Vasant Ranjane,Vijay Mehra and the Nawab of Pataudi .Sadly six of those members are no more . Sardesai was a master batsman of spin bowling and was renowned for his superb batting technique like his illustrious predecessor and the legendary Vijay Manjrekar . I watched Sardesai play so many times and once he was at the wicket , it was difficult to dislodge him . May his soul rest in peace. The streets of heaven are paved with gold for this illustrious Indian cricketer .

Dilip Sardesai was well known for his criketting exploits ,particularly, against the West Indies, during the 71 series ,well very few people know that he was one of the best batsman against the west Indies after Sunil Gavaskar.
