EASY TO COMMENT

Its very easy to comment and balst the team after it has lost.
Guys, tell me honestly, did any one of you expect India to win the first test against Australia ?
Not possible, now that they have had a look, they will definitely improve their performance in the future matches and I am sure we would have a result in our favour.

I agree. Most of those making boisterous comments here apparently never played cricket. This weekend, I stopped one friend who never played cricket but was blasting the Indian team. If anything, the blame should be directed on BCCI for the poor planning of the tour. They are killing the game with an overdose of international cricket.

This was anticipated

All along our batsmen have been spoiled on a diet os dead pitches in India. Normal batsmen have become superstars on account of heavy scores which they have made on pitches without bounce and pace and hence even a good bowler struggles.

Once they are out on a pitch with life the same superstars start hopping around. The first Test already proved it. Past reputations are nothing. More importantly performances on dead pitches in India and performances against weak countries also give a deceptive impressive. Australia has given us a rude wake up call.

Time for cricket administration to prepare fast and bouncy pitches from Ranji Trophy level so that batsmen are forced to get accustomed to fast bowling.

Moreover Ranji Trophy should somehow invite international fast bowlers - Brett Lee, Harmison, Mitchell Johnson, Tait, Shoaib Akhtar and they should bowl to the local batsmen. JUST LIKE ENGLISH COUNTY CRICKET. The local talent will develop surely as they face quality bowling and once they are pitchforked into Test cricket they are thus more prepared.

At least in the future we will get real Test quality batsmen. Moreover having fast pitches in India will enable us to have moer fast bowlers and more encouragement to local talent.

problems in BCCI
by Ramesh Thamankar on Dec 31, 2007 05:30 PM

Failure of Indian batting order and especially opening failure clearly indicates a lack of planning from the team perspective. Oz is no place for experimentation. Team cannot send experienced player like Dravid to open in Oz. Look at his record last time india went ot Oz. He played No 3 and we all know what were the results of that.. So it is high time that team prefers a proper opening pair. For me, Viru and Jaffer should be the one & two. Drop Yuvi. He is a fantastic player in the shorter version of the game, but not in Tests.

Come on Guys !

Come on Guys....Before the series everyone was pretty optimistic about an Indian Victory and now you guys seems to be totally blaming the Indian Team.

Just give them another oppurtunity. I feel the following are the reasons for the Indian downfall in the first test.

1. While many feel that it is the batters who let the team down , I feel that the bowlers should equally take the blame for letting the Aussies score 350 in both the innnings in such a difficult pitch not to consider the fact that it was much like a spinners track and unfamiliar to Aussie's type of batting. So the Indian Bowlers atleast in the second innings should have put up a good show in dismissing the Aussies for less than 200 , there by giving India a decent score to chase.

2. Shuffling the batting order should have waited for atleast two tests. Yuvraj might have been asked to wait for atleast one or two games until India finds themselves in a good position (or worst position) to play him. They should have started the series with the popular and conventional openers (Sehwag and Jaffer).

3. A person who is out of form should be helped by the team management by asking him to bat down the order. But in Dravid's case , he was asked to bat up the order that too as an opener. He struggled and gave an impression that there is some demon in the pitch. An inform player like Sourav should have been sent in at No:3 (after Sehwag and Jaffer) and Rahul should be pushed down to N0:5 or even No:6 after VVS.

whatever be the nature of the wicket India is going to lose 4-0.So whether it spins or is a bouncy wicket it wont make a difference.Maybe this test will finish in 3 days.I think we should bat both 1st and 2nd innings and give one innings to aust to score.that way we have a chance

there is no strategy for the team atall... luks like amateur team is touring without proper preparation n home work.. luk @ aussies from 1st over for jaffer they had 4 men were onside.. not giving any runs easily backed up with disicpline bowling n watiing patiently..this is just one exampl...same stategy they ar applying wn they toured last time india.. (dryin up boundries n easy runs)..
