I think they would definitely play Viru as they have taken him all the way and that its been such a big point of discussion... It would make them an absolute laughing stock if they dont play him after all this discussion....

my team for first test 1. jaffer 2. kaarthik 3. dravid 4. sachin 5. ganguly 6. laxman 7. yuvraj 8. dhoni 9. sehwag 10. kumble 11. pathan
12th man rp singh
many eye brows will raise looking at the above team but the logic behind this is we dont have any express bowlers or match winner bowlers who can take 20 wickets to win a test in australia.
second thing if we can draw a test, that will boost our players confidence, and it will be a morale win for us.
third aus will try their best to give us a white wash...
so looking at all the factors this team can atleast draw a test in australia.

Because Sourav can play on slow and low wickets in India. He can't play on fast, bouncy wickets.

Gentleman, Dont forget Saurav's 100 at Brisbane which was helping the seamers, that sets the tone of the series. And don't forget his gutsy innings at South Africa this year.
In the past, India have played with mediocre wicket keepers and no allrounders. Now with Dhoni as a consistent batsman, and Pathan as a capable lower order batsman, we should be able to do well with 5 top order batsmen, one wicket keeper batsman, one allrounder, and four full-fledged batsmen. This is one way to win games. We will end up drawing them with 6 batsmen.
