India could have done better

I feel India sorely missed an effective partner for Zahir. Perhaps Irfan for Munaf would have been a better option.

Good luck on day five India
by Vijay Singh on Dec 03, 2007 09:27 PM  | Hide replies

As far as I am concerned this match is going to be ended in a draw, because if India wants to play gamble then they should have at least 60-70 overs to bowl out Pakistan's second innings which seems to be difficult at this venue where bad light ended the play for whole four days. India has to play fast in the morning so as to give a target of atleast 400 plus,if they try to win the match, otherwise if you wanted to be on a safer side then just play your normal game. This fourth day was a real mixture of ups and downs all day. First there was no fall of wicket in first session and then with fall of SAMI it all went in favour of India. After dominating one and half session it will be interesting to see what stratigy will Kumble adopt, whether to go for a gamble or want to be a safer side as Dravid adopt at Oval. Best of luck India.

No way Kumble will bat maximum of 8 to 10 overs for 90 runs and then will try to take 10 wickets. But wahtever may be the case to take in 1 day is a big task.May be some good performances may push it true.Who knows in a 5th day wicket where australia failed to deliver.

fair enough
by Ashok K Gautam on Dec 03, 2007 09:04 PM

yes that's right, and fair enough! batting for half an hour would not cost much but will ensure that we do not end up losing, the risk involved on this batting track is little too much. good luck india! hope you may chak de this time too!
