Carry on Sachin!
by Ravi Challam on Aug 10, 2007 11:32 PM  | Hide replies

All you guys do not appreciate Sachin's effort. So what if Kumble scored a hundred? He did so becoz his friend Dravid did not declare. But Sachin played a great innings. So much character and patience (none of us have it!). I think Sachin is good enough to play for another 10 years during which he will score another 1000 runs @ strike rate of 1.00. India needs Sachin. Plz support him. Thank you.

Come on - what a joke. Donot belittle Sachin by comparing with Kumble - take pride that a Bowler has scored century - why bring Dravid in between - He declared innings as Sachin was dragging the innings & there was chance to win. Be a sport.

Tendulkar was so keen to continue as he was nearing double century. It was also reported that Tendulkar was not accelerating the scoring rate. So Dravid had to declare the innings. It was entirely the fault of Tendulkar who refused to respond to the requirement of the call.

If "ChickenTindu" want to make runs than Tundla can make more than 250 runs.....
And Kumble played lot better than paper-tiger Tendia.....
Don't talk about selfish,chicken,coward,snail Tundla......

Roles perfectly executed...
by Gaurav Singh on Aug 10, 2007 11:31 PM

Sachin provided the solidity
Laxman played comparitively quicker
Dhoni was exceptional
Kumble had a memorable day! A thorough gentleman
Tailenders further frustrated the englishmen

Prior continued his fab keepin! lol..
That MOTY umpire continued to be rubbish against Indians (Anderson was plumb LBW, instead it ended as four :s)

A perfect script. CONGRATS everyone!! :-)

Dhoni the great
by cricislife on Aug 10, 2007 11:30 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni's acceleration was vital to the innings. Indeed, they all batted excellently and deserve praise but Dhoni's innings demoralised the English jokers. For once you could see the englishmen not trying to "mentally disintegrate" the opposition any more. they have made fools out of themselves, the biggest fool being Matt Prior!!

Sharad Rahul Pawar Dravid
by Iyum Chappal on Aug 10, 2007 11:13 PM  | Hide replies

The two are inseparable. They represent the best and the worst in terms of politics. Sharad Pawar has always been known as a selfish politician and Rahul has followed him 100%. I DONT WANT TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM KUMBLE. FANTASTIC EFFORT.
GO BACK IN TIME. DRAVID DECLARED WHEN TENDULKAR WAS NEARING A DOUBLE CENTURY AND EVERYONE PRAISED HIM FOR HE PUT MATCH WINNING OPPORTUNITY OVER ANYTHING ELSE. TODAY WHAT HAPPENED. WHERE DID THAT RATIONALE GO. IT WAS CLEAR HE WANTED KUMBLE TO SCORE 100. AGREED. WHY HE DIDNT DECLARE AFTER THAT. BECAUSE THE CUNNING MAN HE IS HE WOULD HAVE CALCULATED THAT IF HE DECLARED RIGHT AFTER KUMBLES 100 PEOPLE WOULD HAVE COMPARED THE 2 THINGS. SO HE ASKED THEM TO CARRY ON TO GIVE AN IMPRESSION THAT IT WAS PART OF HIS STRATEGY. HATS OFF MR DRAVID. AFTER U RETIRE NCP IS WHERE YOU SHOULD GO. DAMN POLITICIAN WILL COST US THIS MATCH. SO MUCH SO FOR THE WALL.

i dont know y u r are thinking so negative ..
there is lot of difference between kumble and sachin. sachin can still score 10-20 hundreds but i dont think kumble will get such a gloden chance again.instead of crying oover this and making an issue u must feel happy for kumble..

Don't day dream...He can't able to make one and you talking about 15-20.ha..ha..ha...ha....

Yes "Tundla" can make century against Kenya, Bnagladesh,Barmuda,Nepal,Canada or USA!!!!!!

"Tendla" is old and over the hill. He is crawling to get his records..
Forget the century and retire!!
Give some worthy youngster a chance to make his mark in the team and on Indian cricket.
By staying in the team, you are being extremely selfish and anti-Indian!! "Chicken,SnailTendlu"

I totally agree with you. It was a genuine innings from kumble without giving any chances. If you remember properly sachin just needed 6 runs for 200. He hardly got 3 or 4 balls in last 4-5 overs. yuvaraj was playing well at the other end. Do u think one or two more overs will make a big change??? By the expression of Sachin that day it was clear that he was unaware of declaration. Not a fan for any individual. What he did on that day was a big mistake by not supporting his teammate. Will Dravid do the same if he is on the same score??? I don%u2019t think so? No one in the world will do that. If u think Lara, Dravid, Atapattu and Ricky are the best test batsmen of this era, each of them played more than 120 tests that means more than 200 test innings and they scored 9,5,6,4 double centuries respectively%u2026u can see the conversion ratio%u2026. scoring a 200 in pakistan against pakis is obviously a dream not only for Sachin...its a dream for every Indian. to be clear india played 161 overs and scored 675 in multan. today 170 overs 664!!!!comeon mr.dravid is this ur match winning strategy!!!!!!!!!!BE A MAN

Nice conspiracy theory that !

India wanted to (and did) win the test match when Sachin was batting (or laboring I should say) towards his double century. In this case, India are up 1-0 and just want to keep it that way. A 2-0 is a bonus, but 1-0 in England is as good as it gets.

Thanks JUSTIN TIME...By comparing Sachin's 192 and Kumble's 100 today they have made them both equal. Sachin is a great batsman and he can score a double century even in the next innings he plays[if he is a great batsman]. But Kumble was there to give support to Dhoni and worked his way to a good century. having been 1 up in the series it isn't necessary to go for the kill now. but just bowl tight and never leave easy runs. Time for Sachin to retire...Your MRF counterparts have done so, so please follow suit.

Congrats to Kumble and Dhoni for a fantastic effort!!~
I'll deliberately leave out Tendulkar's name cos on a flat pitch there was no excuse for him to consume 192 deliveries for his 82!!
I personally think his batting in this match was a disgrace!!
Let the abuses flow, i don't care!!

Good job done boys.

This is ridculous. You guys are mad. Evry now and then you come with for/against statistics about Sachin/Sourav. It is a great thing that Kumble played a memorable knock today and it was genuinely good inning. But, you can't look at the numbers and decide which is better. In that respect one can argue Dhoni's knock was the best. The most important thing is everyone played their role (which is a very rare thing) and Sreesanth's 35 are very useful as well. Sachin played when India quickly lost 2 wcikets and we definately required 500 score. So, he had to play patiently and more importantly he played when the ball was new and Sidebottom was really bowling very well. Later on Dhoni played a very entertaining knock that firmly placed India. After that Kumble had nothing to loose with flat surface and softer ball, he only had to keep playing. He really got very good support from zaheer and Srisanth. What really matters is we have a huge score now and may not need to bat again. I can't remember when was the last time every Indian player played so well. Good luck boys! Win this series by 2-0 now!

Dont get your BP up Abhay! There are a set of jerks in this messageboard who are a shade worse than arm chair critics. Skinning Sachin and Sourav, panning Dhoni and Sreesanth, stoking an East-West argument, one would suppose that these blokes would make excellent cooks. But alas, I suspect, they would fare poorly there too.

Today's game was, by far, the most satisfying, one has seen in a long long time. All round contribution from one and all. In all probability, India would not have to bat again. Zaheer, Kumble RP and Sreesanth have their work cut out. Get them guys! A 2-0 win is so much more sweeter than a 1-0 one.

Vive, Vive, Vive la INDIA!!

Right strategy

Theres no problem encouraging youngsters. This should always be done. But insulting senior players is not right at all .For all the bloggers here, what would they think if the company gives more importance to newcomers than say them when they become senior. Newbies often shine for a while and then once everybody knows their limitations its apparent they arent better than seniors. The best decision they did was to eliminate Greg. I liked him initially but the fact that he caused Saurav, Sachin and the Laxmans to bicker is unpardonable. Has anybdoy asked why Zaheer wasnt picked for all those tours before WC 2007. Lets find a right coach for this team or else we would destroy all that has been gained. Btw people as great as the Big 4 do have a right to have an ego, they have earned the right to it. Go India and kick those haters on their balls.

Chappel treated everyone the same. That's exactly what team India needs. If Seniors stop performing, get them out, and let them perform domestically and probably in county cricket, and bring them back, once they regain the form. No matter how senior he is. Saurav made this a Big issue, because he was not used to this approach, when he was thrown out. and Saurav is the one who made the whole thing a personal affair. Same thing goes to Sachin as well.
And most of all, wait until this team performs consistently, in all the departments of the game. It's all about consistency, otherwise, everything is a fluke
