I feel that Ramesh Powar should have been included. In place of Yuvaraj the ideal person would have been Gautam Gambhir and VVS should have been included in the team as he is experienced and has proven track records and of late is in good form.
Let us first congratulate Dilip Vengsarkar for being selected as chairman of the indian selection team the for mer captainand the most inform and prolofic batsmanof the world of his age and as a judicious and expert commenator of cricket once has selected means one must trus and respect his his choice and suggestion and we hope the result will be in the form of improveved performance of the team in future and winning the world cup 2007. we wish him all good luck as a chairman selection committee as well as with new height of success .
The best team for india could be to have only "three" specialist bowlers, Munaf, powar/Pathan and Harbhajan. Anyway RP Singh, Agarker, Pathan will not bowl their ten overs even gets selected. They invariably go for more than 6 runs per over on average. Rather than bowlers getting hit, let the overs bowled by Sachin, Sehwag, Mongia and Yuvraj go for runs. I think this is the not the proper selection. Becuse no need to select Dinesh Kartik and Wasim Jaffer. I think Goutam Gambhir & VVS Laxman should be in place of Wasim jaffer and Dinesh Kartik. Because Gambhir is the most attacking batsman the Wasim Jaffer and VVS Laxman is a good batsman for first wicket.
There has been a lot of anomalies in the Selection. Gone are the days when the Indian Team used to make India PROUD... It has gone with your era. what prompts you to Select Sehwag and Sachin. They will perform superbly in ONE MATCH and spoil India's chances in the next 10 matches. TENDULKAR IS A PAPER TIGER. HE IS NO MORE HIS OLD SELF. HE CANNOT BE A MATCH WINNER ANYMORE. It is a SHAME to call urself a MASTER BLASTER and play the way you did in the Last encounter against Australia. It is absurd. Even a Club level cricketer would have batted better. It is time that SACHIN decides to say good-bye for the betterment of Indian Cricket. KUMBLE is an another liability. He is no more a spinner. He is a fast medium bowler (WATCH HIS SPEED WHEN HE BOWLS ) He does not know HOW TO FLIGHT THE BALL. Spinners need to FLIGHT the ball to purchase wickets. Dear Mr. Vengsarkar.. Pls ask ur erstwhile Team Mates like... Erapalli Prasanna, Venkataraghavan, Bedi and Chandrasekar... They will VOUCH for the fact, that as a spinner u need to FLIGHT and purchase wickets. You might get hit.. but never mind ultimiately u will get wickets.
No/never hope from indian team.Request to all that dont waste time for indian team at least failure should teach the lesson to people not for the team.
Which ever Team is picked up , unless & untill the players realize that evry match is crucial and they give more than 100% to perform extremely well , The chances of winning is Less.
The players should rethink where they are going wrong and till the moment they work that out , they can't perform well.
This is not the best team in india. 1st requirement is the Change of Leadership . The batton should be in the hands of Sourav and not Dravid. Without this Change, no Success come whatever the team Member. Above all , Greg Chappel must be replaced to bring unity and harmony among the team member
A lot was expected from Vengsarkar, the new chairman of selection committee,looking at his stature and experience.But he too appears to be like his predicessors. His comments that there is no talent is very disappinting and discouraging. The selection committe should make it a policy to intduct atleast one new face who has been consistant in domestic season.
