Record....
by Avinash Jain on Jul 29, 2006 06:11 PM

Srilanka can play only at their home grounds. The moment they step out they are an oridinary team (exception - The England tour - Someday you ride your luck). This is one of most louzy team in test cricket - They play to create/break records and a draw.

SRI LANKA PLAYS FOR RECORDS ONLY.
by Harsha on Jul 29, 2006 06:07 PM

It seems that sri lankans play only for records on their home soil. With murali and co. they should have declared on 300 run lead and win the match on 3rd day.... like australians do.

They are as good as their tailor made pitches are. They would have been dismissed for 120 if it was a South African pitch. By the way... what is Jayawardena's average outside sub continent ?

Batting Paradise
by andrew on Jul 29, 2006 04:23 PM

All the pitches in the Emerald Isle are designed as batting paradises. No wonder. The grounds are also smaller. The same sixer in SSC, Colombo will fall in Short Mid-on in Eden Gardens. No wonder the Lankans are making merry.

At last the record partnership for any wicket from now on, till it is broken and not hopefully against India, will be against South Africa... Thats one of d good points as far as records are concerned. But one more thing when v c most batsmen in d world getting tired .. but here the twosome didnt look like dat at all.. Great Hats Off to d two some... Congratulations for the marathon innings.. the Srilankans have done it.. time n again.. Well done.

SriLanka's ton
by sudhir on Jul 29, 2006 02:07 PM

The Lankan can only score & play on their tailored made pitches in Sriiii Lankaaaa. What happens when play away from their home-ground. They got massacred, butchered, mauled & skinned when they toured India, Australia & south Africa.

They are bunch of tiny rats swimming against the cricketing tide.
