Indian team for ODI against England
by shridhar on Feb 20, 2006 12:43 PM

After the superb performance against England, Every body is talking about positives with respect to Indian team. There should be some changes specially in bowling department. My 14 member team is

1)Rahul Dravid
2Virender Sehwag
3)Sachin Tendulkar
4)Yuvraj Singh
5)Mohammad Kaif ( He should be given more opportunity as he is class player particularly for ODI )
6)Suresh Raina
7)Mahedra Singh Dhoni
8)Irfan Pathan
9)Harbhajan Singh
10)R P Singh
11)Romesh Power
12)Gautam Gambhir ( Should be gievn one more chance )
13)Piyush Chawla ( In place of Ajit Agarkar, I don`t know why Agarkar is getting so many cahnces)
14)V R V Singh

Murli Karthik, Zaheer Khan are not effective in ODI. We should now look for some new spinners. I was thinking for any spinner but no names are coming in the picture. The country which ruled in the world in spin, do not have a average spinner in the bench strength.

Saurav should be in...
by Devam on Feb 18, 2006 07:50 PM

The squad that is yet to be announced may be as potent without Saurav as ever, but its inevitable that Saurav has to be chosen. His performance in india has to be taken into consideration while taking any decision either for or against him. He's ubiquitous when it comes to cricket. I think its egregious on the part of the selectors to neglect the potency of a dormant tiger. In short, I can easily say that form may come and form may go, but dear Saurav... You are, and always will be the Prince, not just of Kolkata, but also of the world of Cricket.

A small piece of luck is all he needs, and who knows... it might just be around the corner. We certainly cannot, or should i say SHOULD NOT deny his omnipotence when it comes to cricket.

Ganguly's spot in danger???
by William on Feb 17, 2006 05:34 PM

After India's youth brigade fired in the one day series in Pakistan, it would be tough for Sourav to make it to the test team.

People would suggest that he has a fantastic record, but then England have the best fast bowlers who could bounce him out.

If in, he should be played surely, as he deserves the respect of not being on the bench.

Indian squad to be named Feb 23
by Bharat S Paliwal on Feb 15, 2006 05:46 AM

Why set the date as the 'first day' of the match instead of the last (or day after the match)? What if one of the palyers plays so well against England to warrant a look in? If the team is selected on the first day itself, what motivates the fringe players? to do well? A possible call for the next side match (current or next series)?
