Chacko Jacob
Sreesanth
by Chacko Jacob on Feb 13, 2006 09:09 PM

It's happening to Sree just like what had happened to AnanthaPadmanabhan. Playing for President's eleven against Pakistan four catches were dropped off Ananthan's bowling, including Tendulkar dropping one, and later he never been selected even with his very impressive domestic record. Don't this be the fate of Sreesanth as well. Sree, bowl well and work hard.

Sreesanth's bad luck
by Capt Venkatraman on Feb 13, 2006 08:43 PM

Mr Panicker in his views is absolutely correct as far as Sreesant is concerned but its getting a bit too far probably Sreesanth is from the same state as Kerala.Comparing with paki bowlers he could have prooved his quality when he was brought back

What say now Rakesh!!!
Friend sometimes you got to beleive in the team and let them play as they are. They are out there in the middle and know the situation better than any of us sitting in front of the TV sets. I hope now you would be satisfied with their performance :)
Three Cheers for India

Tendulkar 's 90's
by Vishwanath Sreeraman on Feb 13, 2006 07:57 PM

Tendulkar getting out in the 90's against pakistan is a good omen for India. I can remember atleast 3 instances where he got out in the 90's and India beat Pakistan. And I can remember atleast 4 instances where his 100 went in vain.

All talks of a new superb breed of Indian cricketers......
by Rakesh on Feb 13, 2006 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

As I write this, India is in it's usual chocking state at 39/2 off 11 ovs and the asking rate has mounted to approx. 6.4. Mohd Asif who took the 2 wickets earlier has just given away 15 runs in his 6 ovs, and this speaks volumes, of how India has gone once again into it's defensive, protective shell playing about 1-2 runs an over. The problem is, after wasting 10-15 overs this way, the moment Indian batsmen decide it's time to hit out, they get out and another fall of wickets follows. Obviously the notion that the new breed of aggressive batsmen with Aussy style of playing: Hit out or get out in ODI's is plain wrong.

As u can see from the result, the slow batting by Tendulkar in the beginning really helped india later on to built the stage for Dhoni and Yuvraj.
Dhoni played in the 'Aussie' style. Even Tendulkar played in the similar fashion after the innings was stabilized. I think they have shown immense character in a tuff situation and should be given the credit.

So are you eating your words now Rakesh?? Glad to see Tendulkar
proving the fickle media wrong. Dhoni is the most exciting Indian
cricketer in a long time and hopefully he stays longer that others like
Bedade, Amre, Dinesh Mongia etc who fizzled out.

Mr Rakesh ....as it turns out ...you should not jump to conclusions a bit too soon. That may leave you with having to eat your own words later on. As Sidhu used to say, it aint over till the fat lady sings ...and your comments make me wonder why you are so frustrated !!

PPl like you have no right to be called cricket lovers or indian team fans. You are so damn aweful man. Its ppl like you who would call for sacking Tendulkar ... or any body for all you care. You only like to make a noise ...

Change your outlook man ..ppl like u have no place in todays world .

Well looks like you were wrong Mr. Rakesh!
I think the only place where India lacks is the belief Indian fans have on their team. It doesnt matter how good India plays for a series of games, the moment they lose everyone gets on the bus of talking trash against the players. And the latest trend these days seems to be pointing fingers at GOD (Tendulkar) himself!
Having said that, I believe that India has still some yards to cover (in terms of consistency and cricketing strenghts) to call themselves a great cricket team, but it is still definitely a great fighting team.
So to sum it all up - Believe

well done
this is a good game to watch
thanks for the splendid display by the indian team
the most crucial period was partneship between dravid and tendulker ,, both r batting legends ,played the seeming new ball and make sure that young gun r not exposed to it which made things ( relatevily)) bit easier for yuvi and dhoni
and yuvi played exceptionaly well in last 4 months
made the flow of wickets to a halt, and finally \\\"all credit to dhoni for the aggressive knock \\\"
WELL DONE INDIA
KEEP IT UP GUYS :)

yeah this happens usually with india..... but this time i wud say was better performance showed by india. although it was made possible at the end by DHONI but sachin, dravid and yuvraj did what should have been done at that stage.

Indian team has improved in this respect.
thanks,
saurabh
