south africa add insult to injur

it is really disappointing and the way team lost series.SAteam is playing superb cricket and they deserve to be win and nobody can deny the credit to Sa team it is SA win more than india\'s defeat.
Team india did not win the any series against SA in last 3 tours irrespective of who was coach, captain, and playing eleven.
team inida all out for lowest score of 56 runs against kiwis and that was most humilated defeat happened under the leadership of most successful aggressive captain.
What can a captain or a coach do if so many players are out of form at the sameRahul Dravid, the greateast batsman of India, will certainly fight these worst days of his career and come up with flying colours. dravid won test series in WI without ganguly and tendulkar.

Blame Game
by seshadri on Dec 04, 2006 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Sirs

Now that we have been routed out in the South African grounds, the blame game has already started with SMS polls and lung-powered MP's from the Parliament making their impact.
It is time to analyse that by blaming the coach alone would not help diffuse the situation. It is like a Dull student who goes for a tuition and does not perform well in the exams. The same situation who holds good here. We Indians pass the fitness test, psychological test and whatever test that are prescribed, but fail when it is to be practically needed in the ground.

So let us be content of what we have rather than making it is an issue.

Insult

When looking at this 5th ODI match, one question comes very often-- whether any other subcontinent team would play worse than India!the answer is no.Take Pakistan or Sreelanka, they cannot play worse than this. And South Africa knew that. That's why they didn't bother whether you bat first or we, the result would be the same.Yes, surely it is a defeat which exposes emptiness of all our stategies. And that is why time has come to do some serious thinking about what should be done next. Otherwise I feel there is no need to send our team to the next years competition at West Indies!

Add insult to injury
by Hemant on Dec 04, 2006 09:22 AM

It was a pathetic display of cricket by Indians. Sometimes you can't feel other than this Indian team is a substandard team and playing with a standard opposition. There was nothing in the pitch to be afraid of and that was exposed during the batting of SA later and also sometimes of our batting.Sure there were some positive signs! This was the first time India played full 50 overs and scored 200 runs. Also this was the first time that Sachin made plus 50.Probably our team took it as a match practice for the start of the test series. But the test bowling would be different, and there will be too many people on the off side for any liberty of snick outside the offstick. But it was the last official ODI of the series and SA really inflicted insult by saying ... look, it does not matter whether we bat first or you, you get defeated hands down!Full marks to SA and high time for our coach to rethink his strategies and set the priorities!

4-0 Tells a lot!

The downfall started in West Indies and continues. VVS Laxman was no help, and neither did Sehwag do any better than he had previously done. Ganguly joining for the Test Matches, does not promise much either. Indian bowling is in shambles. Apparently, the 4 medium pacers have not done much of joy. Each one has given 6 or more runs per over during the ODIs, and this does not augur well for the tests either.

All those statistics, all those heroics of the past, are now part of history. Indian teams should be disbanded and bring in amateurs. These professionals have ruined the game for they have sold their image to the advertisers and are rolling in money, life of extravagance and late nights. Its time there is a complete rethinking done.

The talk of a bowling coach, reminds me of the pitching coach in baseball. There is a batting coach too. By the way, what happened to the circuit training adorned army fatigues? That was to cultivate a discipline, and it appears that the Indian cricketers turned out to be proverbial horses who were taken to water but could not be made to drink.

Shame on India!!
by Raj on Dec 04, 2006 01:10 AM

What a shame!!

If we are expecting the inclusion of Ganguly and Laxman will help... the answer in "NO". The misery will definitely continue till the team gets the "correct motivation" from the coach & captain!!

We should also agree that India currently lack "talent" compared to any other cricket playing nations.

BADLY XPOSED

Finally the seam comes apart also at the Centurion. Our Total ritualistic approach towards defeats is better than the one of Aussies',towards victories. No idea of what to do in the middle,a few of them desparately trying to make some runs to improve their sagging reputations and bowlers trying out far too many variations forgetting basics and getting clobbered. If a few of them are happy and relieved, those will all be in the flight back to India. The rest will stay back for some more hammering in Tests, and who knows may be steeled and stand-up well for future poundings.May the honest withdraw and not stake claims for the national jersey till they analyse and adjust to the tough demands of international cricket, well. The vain fellows will get removed from the field with bruised ego and battered records as they needlessly act being the ultimate in the business. As most of them stand naked as for their ability on unknown pitches, they are not what a follower/fan thought they are.Like SriLanka,Windies,NewZealand etc., we will be better off sending a bunch of enthusiastic new Team of youth who could stand a better chance at the world cup,and not these uninterested bunch of noncharecters.
